Sounds like we found our JoePa replacement
I really don't understand all of the hatred for Franklin and all the calls for him to be fired.
I understand that a lot of fans want him gone, fans that probably don't know as much about football as they think they do. But again, who are they going to hire to replace him? I am sure there is a short list of candidates that would be expected to be better than Franklin and are willing to come here. Not to mention there is a great recruiting class coming in, a class that Franklin brought in. Not only do you need to hire a coach who can out perform Franklin but also one that can maintain Drew Allar, specifically, and much of the rest of the incoming class. It's not going to be as easy as all of those fans think.I believe that much of the fan base is tired of the lack of Franklins willingness to put an end to rumors of leaving year after year. Add in last years performance, the lack of having even the resemblance of a viable backup QB and then add in the stinker of a performance yesterday, it’s what you are going to get.
if you polled the fan base in the parking lots yesterday, I would lay money that better than 50% believe he will go to USC or LSU if offered.
I don't think that's what KCLion was saying... not that fans want Franklin gone (I know some do).I understand that a lot of fans want him gone, fans that probably don't know as much about football as they think they do. In this division, those two goals are one in the same. If he goes to the BIG 10 championship he is likely in the playoffs. So can Franklin win the Big 10 East? History says no,This is where I am. The playoff is a joke and perhaps even worse than the pre-BCS days. You basically have 126 contending for one spot, in the event that they don't feel like putting in one of the four you mention
It should not be the main criteria for retaining a coach. Now if you want to say he needs to get to the B1G title game more often, OK. That would be a good reason
The pre-BCS (bowl coalition) days were the golden era of college football. College football's problems trace back to the the irrational, illogical need for a so-called true national champion, which we have not consistently has seen...the pre-BCS era.In this division, those two goals are one in the same. Hate to break it to you but we were the third best team in the East when we won the Big Ten in 2016. Inconvenient truth, we back our way to Indianapolis as opposing to winning our way there.Well he did it once, and won the B1G championship, and the clowns put in OSU anyway.
We lost to Michigan in an uncompetitive game. We were the third best team and backed our way in.No actually we did it by defeating Ohio State. Who then went to the playoff anyway, because the sport is bullshit
At PSU? Your going to get your a** beating this weekend Bob like it or not. Many coaches would kill to be 8-9 (8-10).
