Based on that it sounds like we may be more banged up at OL than we had hoped. Nice to hear that hes progressing well as a player but he's a true Freshman I believe.

Kid is a beast. Frankly the only reason he's not starting has to be experience.Based on that it sounds like we may be more banged up at OL than we had hoped. Nice to hear that hes progressing well as a player but he's a true Freshman I believe.
I mean based on that pancake block, I'm not sure anymore. Thats exactly what we're missing on the OL.Is this really about injuries? Or is Franklin saying he’s too good to ride the pine?

Will be interesting to see who is at practice today. And large. Listed at 6'4" 336#
Was a long-time commit to Washington...late visit to PSU and became the last addition to the recruiting class
Hopefully Chop, Tengwall and Wallace can play this week PSU will need them to beat The Ohio State. Will be interesting to see who is at practice today.

Agreed. If he can play well get him in the field. The days of redshirting players who can play now are over.Who cares about red shirting any more? If a kid is good enough to start an entire year he will go NFL early for the money.
So you red him this year, he plays next year, starts in 2024......he is gone. Period.
Even keeping a kid for four years is getting to be difficult.

I agree, but Im just not sure if hes playing bc of injuries or just bc hes that good. Either way I agree, play the kid. But having a true freshman OL vs OSU is a little scary.Agreed. If they can play and help you win then get them on the field.
Not only do the high end players go to the NFL early but kids also transfer at will. We are preserving redshirts for kids who wont be here in 5 years.
What’s more than a little scary vs OSU is a Head Coach that is 1-7 against them, and a starting QB that is 0-3 against them. I’ll watch every second on Saturday, but I have no confidence, as in zero, that the above combination will do anything other than lose - just like they did vs UM. Hope I’m wrong.I agree, but Im just not sure if hes playing bc of injuries or just bc hes that good. Either way I agree, play the kid. But having a true freshman OL vs OSU is a little scary.

No excuses, no defense for a Penn State Head Coach that is 3-6 and 1-7 vs our 2 rivals. None. Franklin is failing, period. I sincerely hope he starts proving me wrong starting this Saturday. What coaches and qbs have winning records vs OSU?
