Franklin post-game for those who want answers

Franklin was honest when talking about the line of scrimmage. The O-line and D-line have been a problem for awhile now, and that was the game. Complete and I mean complete domination. I never saw a PSU game like that before. Franklin states we got to get bigger. Yep! Maybe he is finally catching on that winning in the trenches is imperative, versus splash plays. Why we can't recruit good lineman I am not sure. Utilizing the star system should be discontinued when recruiting lineman and figure out another method to recruit tough,nasty,menacing lineman. Get them the right pharmaceuticals and get after it. Mustipher did nothing. I would go to the portal immediately and see what is available. When viewing the Michigan lineman and comparing their body type to our lineman there is a huge difference. Michigan has ecto/meso lineman meaning tall and muscular and we have endo lineman meaning fat with a little muscle. We got all kinds of skill players but have a huge void when it comes to the unheralded lineman.
Please see my “Words are wind” thread. I admit to being a GoT fan (books and HBO series). I didn’t coin the phrase - Ned Stark did. But he’s so on point when it comes to Franklin - so much talk, so little results.
If this is the truth then we are more screwed than I ever imagined...what is Trautwein doing? How many years to rebuild lines? It is not worth it. Just clean house if this incompetent.

All - Franklin and his staff simply do not understand what it takes to win the Big Ten. Unfortunately for we alums and fans, neither did Paterno or O’Brien. That’s why we’ve only won it 4 times in 29 seasons. There are 3 and only 3 success metrics for PSU football:
1. Beat UM
2. Beat Ohio State
3. Win the conference championship.
Thats it. And we are awful in all three. We’ve NEVER had a head coach that understood this since we joined this conference. Bowl games don’t matter. Out of conference wins don’t matter. Only the 3 success metrics matter. And Franklin is abysmal in all 3.

Fat, slow and lazy is no way to go through a football season, son.
And this is why I sometimes object to the “he’s a great recruiter” line. He’s a great recruiter of “athletes” but not necessarily a great recruiter of football players especially in the trenches, Great recruiters are balanced in their spread of talent across all positions and our lines have been an ongoing problem during his tenure in particular. Yeah, skill players and a great QB can mask the problem (see Barkley and company), but if one is honest, the OL was a problem then. We could not finish a game by imposing our will when we had to do so.
Vertical jump heights! 40 times! Bench press weights! What can he power clean?! That stuff that happens between the lines during an actual game? Meh, whatever. Franklin is awesome on who looks great leaving the bus, or who is the man at the NFL combine tests. As for who can make plays that wins football games for PSU? Not s much.
