Just read an article on 247 that said Franklin will give the green light to four True Freshmen this fall for the upcoming season. This basically means that Franklin has chose not to redshirt these four True Freshmen this season. Those true freshmen are WRs Juwan Johnson and Brandon Polk, RB Saquon Barkley, and CB John Reid. It really surprises me that Franklin is choosing not to redshirt Polk and Johnson, as we are already very stacked and deep at the WR position. This factor that these two will both be on the field in certain packages this fall really excites. We are going to have A TON of playmakers on the outside, and countless packages to use. Johnson is going to be a nightmare matchup for opposing corners in the redzone as he possesses an athletic frame and ball skills similar to Megatron. Choosing to not redshirt Polk surprised me the most of the group, and he may be slated as one of the Kick Returners. Also, I think he will be used mostly on bubble screens, as he is lightning in a bottle, and could turn a screen into a 40 yard gain. Think Devon Smith, but slightly bigger and with better agility and cutting ability, not just straight line speed, which he still has plenty of. He will have his own package and will be used on certain occasions. I am ready for the season!!
