can't he get involved in the decision making on offence? some of those calls made on sense.

So when it’s a well called game it’s AK, but when it’s a poorly called game, it’s Franklin. Got it.
Franklin's involved all the time BUT he's likely more involved in games against better teams. Ton of credit to CJF against Oregon

Any time I see the QB lined up as a WR, it's Franklin.

And, the main issue of using the wrong back and not running enough has been persistent all season.

We just have tougher competition now.

What happens in practice every week, please fill us in since you’re obviously an insider.

How many teams split their QB out as a WR?
How many teams have a second QB who runs the ball 5 to 10 plays a game?

How many teams would quit running Allen after runs of: 9 yards, 23 yards 10 yards, 9 yards, 6 yards in the first quarter?

Do you realize that Allen didn't have a single carry less than 6 yards in the first quarter?

This has Franklin's fingerprints all over it.

. . . And, the main issue of using the wrong back . . .
I was thinking at one point they needed to stop trying to get Singleton going and keep feeding Allen, then the very next play #10 goes 58 for a TD to seal the win. A mind is a terrible thing.

That was late in the game when the defense sold out to stop the run and save clock.
There was 5 minutes left and they were down 10 points. That's not a standard play.
And Singleton had 12 carries for 87 yards. Take out the 58 yarder and he has 11 carries for 29 yards. That's under 3 ypc.

And kudos to Singleton. He's not terrible. But he's not the better back.
He was untouched on that run.

Can we just all please accept that Beau played because it was the only way to keep him from entering the portal in the spring because we didn't want to have an unknown there?
That may have helped us beat Wisconsin (though the pick 6 kind of handled that or if Fleming just doesn't drop a TD but whatever) but it was never about anything other than appeasing Beau

He is the better back and it’s not really close.

Allen's the better power runner and pass protector
Singleton's the better receiver, more elusive and a game changer
They both have value--I still believe Allen should have more carries but Singleton should have more touches.

Allen is a much more patient back allowing the play to develop (may just be slower), while Nick is faster to where the play “should” go but sometimes is there before the hole actually develops.

They are complimentary running backs.

that could be. All I see is Singleton getting arm and hand tackled.
I think his style is house every carry but it really hurts when he averages under 3ypc even if he breaks one every now and then.

You need consistency from your running game.

He was heavily criticized over the last couple of years, with many believing he was too involved. The truth is, we don’t really know how much he is or isn’t involved. Maybe there’s a method to the madness, as they’ve been competing well in my opinion. No team is perfect.

On the touchdown run, it was slow developing allowing Nick to hit the gap that the time allowed the line to create for him.

And the defense had sold out because Boise was down 10pts with 5 minutes left

Both can be true.
In many cases the OC handles play calling, but the HC makes decisions to go for it on 4th and 1 from their own 20 or to not kick the FG.

IMHO, AK needs to dispense with the gadgets and JF needs to burn his analytics sheet, kick the FG early and punt on 4th down in PSU territory.

I love CJF and want him to stay a long time. That said, I’m really happy there were no critical 4th and 1 decisions or 2 point conversion decisions to be made yesterday.

Good point. I was nervous all game they “were going to be aggressive” which is fine but not when we’re on our 20 yd line.
