Check out the prognostications he captured for posterity. Hilarious.

-------------- snip

As we gear up for another off-season of Penn State prognostications, here, as a public service, are some of the pearls of wisdom offered on this board in the past year about the 2015-16 team:

"I will quit posting if Zain bonuses Sorenson or even Tsirtsis." (OtisCampbell, 12/2/2015, in the thread "Way Early Season Hodge Frontrunners.")

"I don't think piling up the talent for a run a year later works that great. Look at the Sooners last year." (Scribe)

"My reservations about PSU isn't that they aren't deep and talented. It is that they don't have a clear favorite to reach the finals, let alone win it. They look eerily similar to the Iowa team of this past season." (MSU158)

"Cael's coaching ability will be determined after the double class and the two wunderkinds have graduated." (Jammenz)

"how is Megaludis' psyche after ducking Delgado last season? If Mega wasn't ready last season, how can he be ready now?" (cjc007)

"If Retherford can't make 141, that weakens Penn State throughout IMO. Conaway isn't a real 133 ..." (Vak)

"Conaway went 3-2 at the NCAA tournament (in 2015), Harding went 2-2 and is the younger man with the steeper learning curve. I don't feel bad about calling this even at all." (Vak again)

"I think Zain needs to cut to 141. ... His frame just isn't big enough to wrestle 149, even if he's put on muscle." (Wrestler9111)

"Retherford is likely a step ahead of the other 149 pounders, but he is not a scoring machine." (Perry)

"Retherford-The guy is legit. But remember, as good as he was, he still only took 5th ... I just don't see him in the Finals. 4th." (MSU)

"You have rfr Nickal placing 5th?! Is this the same Nickal whose lost to McCulley and whose best college win is over Pickett? ... " (Jammenz, part 1)

"Crutchmer, Martin, Brunson, Massa, Butler, Walters, Epperly, Weatherman, and McCulley all rank ahead of the unproven frosh Nickel who has zero good college wins under his belt." (jammenz, part 2)

"Nickal is barely top five in the B1G. Meyer-IA, Mahones/Massa-MI, Brunson-IL are the top tier with Nickal battling Welch, Martin, Sebastian in the next group." (Get the feeling Jammenz really doesn't care for Bo Nickal?
)

That is classic, I'm still laughing as I post this - yea, all these "traditional b1g shiz-hole fans" are just incredibly knowledgeable wrestling fans.......NOT!!!

Jammen here: Tommy Thorn is better than Gulibon.

Didn't work out that way at B10s or nationals.

Link or it didn't happen.

Priceless comments!! ;)

Fans will be fans with their predictions.
Thanks to Phifer Fuqua for pulling those together and to Chickenman Testa for posting them. A fun read.

Glad things turned out much better for Penn State, for Cael and our wrestlers than those predictions.

I'm surprised that the PSU wrestlers exceeded the ever-knowledgeable tradition b1g shiz fan expectations given Cael's severe inability to coach and all.

MSU 158 is the top hater in all the land of all things Cael and PSU...he's on there already on another Penn State thread for next year, attempting to downgrade our points total next year....

Laughable.

The real fun would be posting the quote and guessing which hater said it.

Crow would be an endangered animal if these guys actually had to eat it.
Yeah, I might be able to nail a few, but I'd get most of the roster at the very least. Phifer captured most of the most egregious Cael-hating booger-eaters in one post - that's a feat in itself.

My Kingdom for a webcam in Otis' living room as Nico was finishing off Gilman. I'd hate to be his poor dog - that beaten-down cur must have been booted down the hall.

The instant meltdown over at HR, was worth the price of admission alone, after the 2nd PERIOD alone.

No. That would be Otis or ctc - 2 cretins who froth at the mouth at the very mention of Bael

Honestly I'm shocked the ever-brilliant traditional b1g shiz fan was not right on with his predictions......and even more shocked that he's going back to his one-trick pony well. No, really I am!

Yeah jamz is an OG when it comes to trolling.
Flo's #1 PFP.

Besides, few of The Mat's brain trust post here. I very rarely venture over to that dumpster fire, so a lot of those guys wouldn't immediately come to mind.

Trust me. As a PSU fan. I hope he keeps predicting things. Almost everything he predicts about PSU the opposite happens. If he ever picked a PSU guy to be champ, I'd be worried. Like the Sports Illustrated cover jinx

Him picking Retherford for 4th had me spitting out my drink. Lol

I dunno, there are a couple guys on HR who say "Sandusky" when they sneeze.

We have a few over here, but we are very fortunate that we do not have a perpetual non-stop dumpster fire over here.

You are 100% correct - that is pure comedy gold. The HR board is incredibly fertile grounds for such whacky genius.

Another new HR favorite is the age of Hall. Cory Clark was exactly like Hall. He is way old for his grade. They are getting ready to redshirt Bradley at hwt. next year and he should already be a junior by age. I have no problem with any age wrestler, but HR throws stones while the glass house cracks.

I so wish themat didn't purge all it's content prior to 2010, that list would be ten times as long. Iowa was 2/3 through their 3 year run when Cael got hired and the place was full of Iowa fans that made so many negative comments that were proven wrong. Still plenty of material for Phifer though, and that was only from the past year or so, lol.

btw, MSU said Klimara would definitely AA and Conaway would not.

Bradley just returned to the US from a 2-yr Mormon mission in Brazil. 2 yrs entirely away from the sport with no wrestling or strength work. Of course he should shirt. Hall's age when he first puts on the PSU singlet -- after repeating 7th grade + a PSU redshirt and possibly a grayshirt year -- entirely different story.

If someone complains about Hall but not Bradley, big deal.

My personal favorite was all the absurd bull$hit about how Mega, the Z-train and "Bael coached" wrestlers stalled their way to victories?!?! If anything these statements demonstrate a complete lack of knowledge in identifying "true" wrestling skills (e.g., skills that will succeed at highest level of Int'l Competition, the Olympics & Worlds) and distinguishing these "true wrestling skills" from gimmicky bull$hit that will only be rewarded in folk by compliant like-minded ignorant officials biased toward the color of a singlet rather than objectively enforcing the true spirit of wrestling's "actual" ancient and long-standing rules (e.g., reward the aggressor and penalize the exclusively defensive that only look to counter...).

Oh, it's hatred. Hatred rules. Hatred and obsessive/compulsive disorder about Cael.

Not so sure about that. For more guys on HR a bigger factor is just pure delusion. The Iowa folks on HR are passionate, but a number are rather out of touch with reality.

Of course, we have some of that on this board as well ...

The new one over on the mats has the haters claiming Ohio State has "all but locked up" the title next year as long as Martin doesn't redshirt and they move Bojo to 174, where he "can win it all".

Wow. And it isn't even Buckeye fans, we all know who it is, lol.

Since it is now clear to them that the Triple-B Brigade doesn't have the horses and ability to control their own destiny, they've become desperate for anybody to win it except for the evil Sith Lord Bael and his stalling drones.....so they can claim that Bael does not have a dynasty and that this year was merely a fluke and Bael's run is over now that he's not benefiting from a "double recruiting class" anymore. They have gone so far off the deep-end over there out of pure despondency and desperation that I almost feel sorry for them....
