I was taught SPEARING (intentionally using the crown of your helmet as a weapon when hitting) was illegal when I played parochial football in 5th Grade! Not only was I taught it was a penalty - I was taught it was a PERSONAL FOUL PENALTY and considered a "cheap shot" by anybody who played the game honor and integrity.
