How does one make the leap from CFL to NFL?

I would expect that in any given year, there are about a dozen CFL guys who could legitimately win an NFL roster spot in training camp.

Is Geno Lewis one of those guys? I have no idea how he has stacked up in the CFL (haven't seen any of his games)…. but he was a fairly "meh" WR at the B10 level (who probably stood out a little more early in his PSU career due to the lousy WR depth chart - once guys like Godwin and Hamilton got onto the depth chart, Lewis was marginalized PDQ).

IN 2018, hewas 15th in receiving yards (827) but, he averaged 18.8 yards per reception, which is the best of any CFL WRs who caught more than 25 passes. I have no idea how that translates to NFL ability.

I found something saying the minimum salary is $54K in the CFL and the highest paid player in 2018 made $218K a year.
