Getting near match time for tonight... Interesting Flo article on Hall

After reading the Flo article... what is everyone's gut feeling if Hall goes tonight and run's out of the tunnel to wrestle? I put it at less than 20% ... but do find it interesting he won the wrestle off recently over Morelli and is traveling with team and saying sources close to the program believe Hall will be weighing in before the dual.

* Note I do hate doing throwing this out there but since Hall is traveling with the team I think it's a possibility? Not just to let him see the carver arena and hostile atmosphere... Many on here are much more dialed in and knowledge greater than mine just looking for others thoughts....

i would assume it is a possibility but I would think there is a lot to such a decision - more than what has been printed on this board. We need a mole! What is Cael's avatar?

I don't think he goes -- I've stated that before.

He's traveled with the team to away duals, and weighed in before prior duals, this season. I don't read too much into that.

The wrestle-off piece is interesting, though I hesitate to put too much stock in it. (Based on scores of wrestle-off reports I've gotten from insiders that turned out to be false, or turned out to practices and not wrestler-offs, or turned out to have the score inaccurate, etc.)

Thanks Tom... I figured you and others would be dialed in more with people inside the program and might have a better idea if he goes tonight or not. I find it unlikely but man what drama it would cause to see him come trotting out of the tunnel at Carver.... Would be a 1 heck of an entrance!

Thanks for the perspective. That helps. As someone who knows nothing about the inner workings of the room, I would think that if the coaching staff wanted to put Hall out there, almost no one (except Geno) in the country would question it. He proved himself all year, especially at the scuffle.

Seems to me that the only reason for a wrestle-off would be to be fair to Geno and give him his chance to prove everyone wrong who should be the starter at this point. If Hall was not a good possibility to wrestle, why wrestle-off now? That was my thought.

However, as you point out, you can’t believe everything you read, so its only speculation as to if there was an official wrestle-off, what the score was, and even if there was and Hall won…..obviously doesn’t mean he will wrestle. Maybe they were trying to get Geno ready for a tough opponent.....

Guess like everyone else, I will have to wait (a bit impatiently) for tonight and see how things play out. Going to be fun.

long time follower of this site, but new poster...
is there a reason my post on this was deleted? thanks.

never mind, I see someone just moved it to another topic...

...I think they can take 3-4 "extras" along on trips as workout partners...
... but I do not know If that applies to only tournaments like the Scuffle, the Big 10 and the NCAAs or if it also applies to single away bouts..

was also told yesterday by former PSU wrestler that Hall and Morelli wrestled off this week. Hall won 3-2

Again. I had no idea if that was accurate. But I was also told it by a former wrestler who still has some contacts

You're right, I think the number is 5...and the travel rules are...as one can imagine...rather lengthy. If I have time, I'll look it up.

I think at a minimum the staff is obviously seriously looking at whether to wrestle Hall or not this year currently. There is obviously smoke there right now, question is will it turn into fire at some point (tonight even...)

Why would they wrestle-off if its NOT an option for Hall to wrestle? Of course the Coaching staff is keeping all their options open and making sure they do right by each wrestler.

I don't think he's going.

However, I would like to see him introduced, run across the mat, straight to a BTN camera, and hold up a piece of paper that says, "Hey, BWI, drop it." Then, turn around and run off so Morelli can take the mat.

Nice to see you talk so negatively about a Penn State wrestler.

Well if Hall only won 3-2 in the wrestle off can't see them pulling his shirt...
Heck if Morelli was that close makes sense to let him go hell he could make the finals...
Can't believe that score is right.
All I do know is, forget his name but the kid who beat Hall hopes they pull the shirt so he or his name will be in the record books some day.

Bo Jordan, also beat Morelli, 3-2. Same score.

Do tell. What was negative about a PSU wrestler?
You have 133 posts and about 100 of them are jump on the pile, ad hominem, add no information and no value posts. And it is absolutely correct that your campaign against one of our own wrestlers, is negative.

You have 10,392 posts, of which about 10,112 are to say "Pull Hall's shirt." Man, that adds to the conversation. Thanks so much for enlightening us. And, you still haven't shown me where I'm negative against a wrestler. You, however, are clearly negative about Morelli.

Nope. Not even once.

And that's another ad hominem post from you, number 101.

Well I stand corrected... so much for being highly unlikely he wrestles ... my thoughts are that with Cortez out for the season they believe they need more points to win it all. This Hall redshirted was pulled

Law wrestles off for 133 this week. We're not finished at 33 just yet.

Just seemed to be too much smoke out there today with Hall wresting tonight. Why I threw it out there just seemed like this week it's been building and had that look that it was more likely than the other times when speculated ... the rumor of the wrestle off seemed to be the icing on the cake

cortez injury probably sealed the deal. don't think it would have been pulled without that. still have to feel bad for morelli. all he did was work hard, get better and win. unfortunately, not a point machine, but that's life.

I agree ... with cortez out for the season coaching staff looked at the points potential and realized they needed more point potential to repeat.

Shakur as well. Little setback kept him off of the varsity squad. Who knows what he could have done.
