It seems to me that there is a big value in someone from the West getting to know Kim. China probably knows him better than any other country but they keep it close to the vest. There is an advantage for them if they are one of the few who do. I think, at some point, yesterday’s meeting had to happen if we want results.

Critics are griping that China is happy about this meeting but I think that is false. I don’t think China wants us to break down any barriers with NK at all. The more dialogue we have with them, the less we need Chinese cooperation.

I don’t have a problem with criticizing aspects of this meeting but it is clear the media is making no attempt at fairness. The MSM would have fawned all over Obama if he held such a summit. He probably would have gotten another Nobel Peace Prize.
