Golson to transfer from ND. Guess he got tired of being thrown under the bus!

How many times has he left nd? Three? Five?

Where is he going to go where he can be berated like at nd?

Would Duke take a transfer found guilty of academic fraud? Sounds like a fit for the tar heels.

Golson was awarded an ND Degree. ND does not take that lightly, so I don't see why Duke or any other school would question that. He was found guilty of a serious academic issue, but he paid his debt and moved on. Why are we taking shots at him?
He had a tough year last year, but had very few stars at running back or receiver to help him out. He did get them to the National Championship game a few years ago.
I think Coach Kelly is one tough hombre who has no problem hanging his QB's out to dry. If I were a QB, I would run from him.

I believe individually he had 17 turnovers in 4 games late in the season. I'm not a Kelly fan but that would probably cause me to combust too.
They have a good sophomore QB and freshman Wimbush. The writing was in the wall...Golson made a good decision.

Unless it is the combusting that is shaking up with kid and causing him to turn the ball over...self fulfilling prophecies and all.

Was it Gholson or Zaire who almost brought them back against Arizona State?
Psuro, that was Golson against Arizona State. He was part of getting them in trouble to begin with, he had multiple turnovers, but the kid has a great arm and can run. We have a family friend on the ND team which is why I have some interest. I would say that ND had one decent receiver, Fuller, and that put much more pressure on Golson. Also, their running game was not great, again, not helping him out. Golson did not handle the pressure well, nor did he handle Kelly's public criticism. In summary, I doubt Golson is really as bad as he looked last year, and probably is not quite as good as he looked when they went undefeated in the regular season in 2012.

Wimbush is one step closer to being berated on a daily basis! Congrats young man!

Nah. I was a D-1 coach(not football) and certain kids rise to the challenge and others don't. Golson cost the Irish 3-4 games himself. No coach at that level can tolerate that poor/inconsistent level of play.
ND is in a better place long term with Golson transferring. Just my opinion

I can accept that.

But, did his coaches antics, during practice and the games themselves, bother the kid into possibly making mistakes or, at least, affect the kids judgment at times?

Maybe but Golson also had NFL aspirations and there was a good chance he was going to split time with Zaire this year and that probably forced his hand as well.
