With Nova and Kansas losing the other night, Gonzaga looks to be #1.. It amazes me how they are so good every year, they beat Zona this year.. They also have wins over Iowa State, St Mary's, and Tennessee who just beat Kentucky. Word is this could be Few's best team ever at Gonzaga.

What is even more amazing how even at #1 or #2 in the country some nitwits at ESPiN have them as a 3-4 seed, Lunardi even had them as #2 seed last week, which is very unlikly if they finish unbeaten and as #1.

Only reason they may not be #1 is if Kansas beats #4 Kentucky on the road, they may be #1, but Zags still would 2.

Paper Tiger every year. Play a soft inner conference scheduled, get high seed in tournament......flame out early. Rinse and repeat.

Really? They have made the NCAA tournament 18 years straight. They have won a first round game in 15 of those years, made the sweet 16 seven times and elite 8 twice. As a PSU fan I would sign up for that in a heartbeat.

Beat me to it.

However, one thing to consider about Gonzaga is that men's hoops is their big sport.

Unlike PSU, where football, wrestling, men's hockey, women's VB and soccer, are bigger, with several having won NCs, and men's hoops not being #1 for the fans.

Makes recruiting a little easier, plus they have had great coaches for the past 20 years or so.

This Gonzaga team has a lot of size, depth and outside shooting ability. I think they should at least get to the Sweet 16. Anything short of that would be a ginormous disappointment. They should be an Elite 8 team. After that, it becomes a crapshoot for just about any team.
