Good article on Hack

Very good read canuckhal.

There are still likely to be some issues and growing pains on the offense this year.

Hopefully Hackenberg, his TEs and Receivers have been honing their routes. Would like to see more yards-after-catch this season. Also, if we can deliver a significantly improved running game, it will likely open up the defenses even more.

Ready to watch this team develop during the early games.

Hopefully they can gel well and give 'em hell!

His story will only get better over the next two years. Eventually it will be one heck of a 30 for 30.

It was interesting to read about the differences b/w O'Brien and Franklin's offensive philosophy. O'Brien favoring quarterback under center and drop steps with a vertical passing game, while Franklin emphasizing shotgun and timing routes. I seem to remember Franklin talking about the route running of receivers. I wonder how many times Hack threw it where he wanted but the receiver wasn't there, which could have been part of his frustration. On top of that, Hack was dealing with the miscommunication along the O-Line as mentioned by Mangiro. Hack talked about how Peyton Manning would know if the receiver broke one second late on his route. With another year under their belts, the offense should be on the same page, and wonder if Franklin and Donovan will adapt as I think the shotgun was an attempt to give Hack more time.

I'm not convinced that Hack will be ready for the NFL after this season... I think he should come back for his senior year. This is based solely on my innocent desire for his well being, and not selfish interest in his staying to lead the team for another year.

Good pickup canuckhal.

Plus, consider that in the ESPN article, Hack was working intently on the footwork and movements for a more classic pro-style drop back start.

That may mean we will see more of it, if the line gives him time and his receivers run crisp routes.

Developing...
