Good job Keith Masser

So Masser:

1. Is doubting victims claims by saying they were made for economic reasons
2. Was not aware of all of important details he was committing large university sums to
3. At the same time claiming they received extensive briefings on all the cases

The bot is nervous, and they should be.

This is why you don't open the checkbook without vetting. People will do or say anything to get paid. http://www.philly.com/philly/educat...es_push_for_details_on_new_Paterno_claim.html
This is beyond messed up. I know people are focused on Paterno (nothing wrong with that) but there needs to be more attention, especially by the media, as to the either the illegal activity of the BoT or their incompetence...it's probably both. We are talking about $100 million and PSU is on the hook for much of it. What's being done about this?!

There is no aspect to this case that is not absurd. But what can we do when all of the scumbag media only cares about Joe, Joe, Joe. The media continues to F-k up facts about 2011 and now we have new absurd allegations the media can misreport but ultimately state as fact.
There's no balance in the reporting. No two sides being presented.
And relative to Keith and the rest of his ilk that wanted to assume guilt for everything under the son - this nightmare is what we get. And I have tremendous empathy for victims, but not every person that crawls out from their rock throwing stones is a victim. How can one defend themselves when every allegation is accepted as fact. What kind of world is this.
I allege the earth is a hexagon. Case closed.

Sounds like Masser & friends' sphicter are tightening exponentially. Can someone explain to me how precisely the Chairman of the Board knows nothing about settlements the Board "approved" for a massive sum of $$$ in total? Those statements from Masser are paradoxical relative to his Fiduciary Obligations to PSU. Just completely absurd and nonsensical, especially his nonsense about settlements not being allowed to be disclosed to the Board due to "confidentially agreements/policies"!

Question for the legal guys here. Because PSU receives money from the State, ie. the taxpayers, does an individual or a group of taxpayers have the status to sue the BOT or PSU for failure to exercise fiduciary responsibility. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Four plus years later and the media still can't find another photo and Joe and JS?

The article quotes Masser..."Masser, the board president, said trustees have had extensive legal briefings on all of the cases the board agreed to settle."

I would like to know if these extensive briefings were only the exclusive "inner circle" or the entire BOT?

Yes, Masser said this but also said the following that conflict with this statement:

The leader of Pennsylvania State University's trustees said Friday that he did not know that a financial payout the board approved for one of Jerry Sandusky's accusers went to a man who claims that he reported the sexual abuse to Joe Paterno in 1976.

and

As to the claim that Paterno did not report or act on a child's complaint in 1976, Masser said, "I'm not saying it wasn't presented. I just don't recall that one. "

Huh? How do all of those conflicting statements possibly make sense coming from the same person especially when that person is the CHAIRMAN of the freaking Board of Trustees in question!?!?

Masser is another liar. Tell the truth, it will set you free, but you can't because of the crooked affairs you turds were involved in.

Via freaking STATE LAW PSU was Founded as the "State-Sponsored, Flagship & Federal Land-Grant Institution of the Commonwealth" - the State Endowed the University with all of its current real property and the vast majority of its current infrastructure, Assets Net Liabilities literally worth tens of billions of $$$s! Beyond that the Attorney General has unlimited Regulatory Control over "Nonprofit Corporations" of all manner (for obvious reasons), but especially so in regards to "Fiduciary Obligation" for Nonprofits registered as "Public-Benefit" Corporations making them part of the "Public Trust" (versus "Member-Benefit Nonprofit Corporations). Beyond that, the PSU Board is a "State Actor" for legal purposes given that the constitution of its Board via Founding Charter and PA Codified Law (e.g., "Legislation") is controlled by the Government (specifically the Governor) via direct Ex-Officio seats for he and members of his direct cabinet, direct Governor appointments and indirect appointments defacto controlled by the Governor (e.g., B&I Nominations & Appointees are appointed by vote of the Board and the Governor has the largest directly controlled voting block by a wide margin).
