it re-visits threads (ahem) from days ago that typically would be long forgotten. I was scrolling down one and found a comment by moi and wasn't certain if i were being misquoted or uncle alz had set in (likely the latter).

so the point is that this approach revives old threads.. whether that is good or bad is a matter of personal conviction, i suppose. but it had me thinking that it has the effect of resurrecting dead threads in a cutesy way of making them seem like they were new again.. iow, there are tons of things to read. not so sure i'd agree with that, but...

as i mentioned previously, if this is the final outcome and no amount of complaining or statistical results will change it, then so be it. it is what it is.

personally i can say it is not nearly as much fun.

Ummm. Isn't that what topic-view always did?

I see one Post has over 14,000 views and almost 500 replies. It will be interesting to see when this one actually 'ends'. Makes me wonder what the record is for a thread?

While Topic view does allow a thread to stay alive, a great number of the previously Thread Only posters will now add to the longevity of a thread. As a Thread Only viewer myself, once a Thread fell page to page 3 it was essentially gone.

This scrolling contributed to multiple posts of the same Topic (SIAP, FC), that won't happen as often now.

I always preferred topic view and these changes make it even better. This is a real time saver. Now I'm going to have to find new ways to waste time.

Yes, not as much fun, but the essence of McAndrew is alive and well. Pros cons either way. I loved thread view, but am making the best of the situation, hopefully.

I think so too, although there are posters who have left, or visit less often, that I enjoyed, and that has diminished the quality of the Board to a degree. As you said, Jim, I too am making the best of it.

I come here far less than before the changes. One good thing is, I've found that I don't miss it that much. I'm slowly weaning myself from it. I realize there is nothing I can do about it right now, because I recently renewed. But it will also give me time to evaluate whether or not I want to continue to pay for The Lions Den, or just stop by Tom's Board occasionally.

By the way, I was just perusing for the first time today, and saw your post. After answering it, I am gone today.
