paraphrasing.. you are supposed to ATTACK on offense but they have to spend too much time ADJUSTING to the DEFENSE.... all PSU is doing pre-snap it patching up holes.. picture a dam with leaks springing all over the place.. and Hack is running around (pre-snap adjustments) sticking chewing gum in each one before the rushing river hits the dam (the river being sufficiently played by any one of 200 FCS and FBS defenses).
The last time we really attacked on offense.. Matt McGloin's Senior Year..before that maybe LJ's senior year (via the running game.. think Michigan State.. the passing game was still pretty pedestrian). Even MRob's magical year was a bit sparse on offense. Interesting that PSU had virtually the same personnel Matt's junior year and was far worse on offense.. .one easy way to compare is to throw in the Iowa games from both Matt's junior and senior year. Hoping we get a heady QB who can handle some adversity in the near future. -sg
