Alright. I really did my homework on this one. Based on last years game here is what I have concluded.
First off, last year we were clearly the better team, and controlled just about the entire game. The O-line actually played very well against Temple. Lynch had over 100 yards and avg. 7 yards a carry. Belton had 92 yards rushing. That is two RB's that both almost had over 100 yards rushing. However, this is when we also had D. Smith and Miles D. starting last year on the line.
They also pass protected well in last years game. Hack, had decent time and played horrible. He was extremely erratic and threw some bad INT's.
One thing I've learned, is football is all about match ups. Regardless, of how bad or good a team is, at times teams just match up better against other teams. And we matched up great against Temple, and simply had there number. We definitely had our chances and should have scored more than 30 points.
So, if the loss of D. Smith and Miles D. does not hurt us that bad, we should definitely handle Temple this Saturday, and cover the 7 point or whatever spread.
