with another tripping incident...third one in two years. I think he wants to be the villain a la Christian Laettner and JJ Redick, but he needs to realize he's not even close to those guys in terms of talent so he doesn't come across as the bad boy everyone hates, he just comes across as a spoiled little sh!t who wishes teams hated him because of his talent level.

Players like him are just another reason, in a long line of reasons, to hate dook & coach K.

You mean to tell me, the ALL POWERFUL COACH EMPEROR "K" doesn't condone this?

He see's ALL & KNOWS ALL folks.

Allen is a douchebag and so is Ratface. He could put an end to that shiz instantly, but he doesn't, because he doesn't want to. If the ACC had any integrity they'd suspend his ass, but it's Duke, so it's all cool. It's a joke.

Allen is such an effin' tough guy, tripping a player from Elon College. Big man. POS.

Somebody is going to low-bridge Allen or jam an elbow into his Adam's apple, and boy I can't wait to see it. He has it coming, big-time.

Not the time for low brow comments. It's time for a sports psychologist, and perhaps a fresh start, and a transfer. This isn't a laughing matter, and it's not funny. The young man needs some help at a tough and difficult time right now. Show some empathy.

We'll see how Coach K handles this. If he REALLY is all about the young men, and not winning at all cost, he will get Allen a transfer, to where he can comfortably grow in both his game, and his life, rather than keep him aboard with all this bad luggage.

What? The best thing for him is to have to uproot from his college and his teamates and transfer to another school? How does that help? And frankly, he is a petulant baby and if he acts like a punk, he gets treated like one, that's called accountability. I assure you, the last thing big baby Grayson needs is more coddling. Coach K should put his ass on the bench for 2 weeks and tell him if he does it again, it'll be the entire year.

Have to strongly disagree. He doesn't need a sports psychologist. He needs a good asskicking is what he needs.

If he wasn't a basketball player starring on a Top-10 team, if he was just a schmoe, he'd be tearing up saloons and assaulting women. Eventually he'd start a fight with the wrong dude and wind up shot, in jail, or having a bottle busted over his head. The graveyard is full of tough guys.

He's not special. He's just a garden variety sociopath who can shoot the three-ball.

We just see this thing two opposite ways.

Coach K called it completely unacceptable in the post game interview. He made Allen apologize to the opposing player and coach after the game. The whole thing is really odd. I'm starting to believe it is somewhat of an irrational psychological response, especially after seeing his bizarre breakdown on the bench.

Allen is a tool at the very least. I wish we could bring Charles Oakley out of retirement for some old school one-on-one with Allen....I would pay money to see that!

In the post game press conference, his eminence the "Rat" stated that Allen was sorry.

Way to handle it coach!!

How about, since it is his 3rd time in less than two years, you sit his ass out for 3 games?

It's not like dook doesn't have the talent to win the next 3 games.

The dook administration stated that: "Allen was given a technical foul for his play and that is that".

Nice!!

At a minimum he should be benched for at least three games. The dude is either a spoiled child or a temper tantrum throwing little bitch.....either way it calls for a benching.

Coach K called it 'completely unacceptable'.......yet continued to play him after the (3rd!!) incident tonight......and after the 2 separate incidents last year. If Coach K doesn't suspend him immediately, then he's done the opposite of considering it 'completely unacceptable' IMO.

After scanning the Duke board it sounds like Coach K made a statement after the game saying the kid apologized and will face some internal (nonpublic) punishment and (paraphrasing) if anyone wants to question him over it that's fine but they can effectively go pound sand.

It will be interesting to see if the Duke administration steps up to change his opinion and suspend the kid or if it will take the ACC to determine a suspension.

My point, exactly.

He needs therapy with a sports psychologist, and he needs out of the fishbowl in Durham to make it work.

And Coach K SAID the right thing, but will he DO the right thing and help him get a transfer? Maybe at the cost of another national championship?

He does not need a suspension, he needs a transfer, to a much smaller, less focused on location, away from the pressures of Duke. UNC Wilmington, Charlotte, Greensboro, App State, etc....he can stay in North Carolina if he chooses, he needs to get the hell out of Duke and he needs a good professional to help him work through this.

He's an entitled little thug on the basketball court...move him away from Duke to another school and he will still be an entitled little thug on a different basketball court. How does this have anything to do with being at Duke? It's his problem and it's nothing a little discipline couldn't fix. I guess dirty football players just need to change teams.

Not a chance. Coach K is the most powerful person in Durham and the entire ACC.

Well he did sit him the 1st 4 minutes of the 2nd half. That will be his internal punishment

A first round draft pick isn't going to sit out a year to transfer to another school. It's ridiculous to even talk about it like it would ever be a possibility. He'll finish out this season at Duke and be in the NBA next year.

Your a moron

Allen assuredly has some issues. The only real thing I liked about Coach K's press conference was him basically telling the media that THEY aren't going to tell him how to run his team. And of course FESPN had to show it over and over and over and they had to make a major issue out of it....should the kid be benched...yup....but screw the msm...

This is kid is a piece of crap. Petulant spoiled brat doesn't even begin to describe him. Dude needs to be put in his place. I can't believe someone hasn't taken him out with a good hard clean foul that he wouldn't forget anytime soon.

If Coach Holier than Thou doesn't suspend the kid, he is a complete hypocrite, especially after talking to that Oregon player after a game last year. The ACC needs to step in and suspend him for at least three games and realistically it should be closer to 5 since this appears to be an on going issue with this kid.

Glad you know what the kid is like. When did you meet him? Coach holier than thou stood up for Joe and has suspended kid. When I take the blue and whte glasses off I can now see why so many on this board are clueless tools

Doesn't matter what he's like off the court, he's shown he can't control himself emotionally on the floor. That's what needs to be dealt with. I'm pretty sure it's not just going to go away. And isn't that part of Coach K's job? Unlike many on this board, I love Coach K, but he needs to address this.
