Let's lay out Kerk's commitments and dispel this notion of him being some kind of flight risk.
1. He's from suburban Minneapolis and committed early to his hometown Goofers, who have a long history of developing HWTs.
2. Then they recruited Steveson over him at the same weight. Writing was on the wall, he flipped to Smith -- who happens to be a top coach at a top program.
3. His freestyle career rocketed and he decided OKST doesn't have the HWT partners to meet his legit Olympic aspirations. He considered PSU and Ohio State, and chose to follow Snyder.
4. Snyder left for PSU, and Kerk followed him.
Perhaps he rushed his choice to go to OKST, though even that one made sense at the time.
With Snyder at PSU for the foreseeable future -- along with Cael, Varner, Cassar, Nick Nevills, etc. -- what is the risk of Kerk leaving? Not the risk of fans feeling uneasy, the actual risk of Kerk leaving?
