...just watched the replay on Wrestling in 60...not sure Gross didn't stick himself in the sequence where Gross was awarded the nearfall.
I've seen it called in high school. The kid was up by 13 points and had the 3 nearfall in the bag for the tech when the ref called the defensive fall.Could you imagine winning a match because a guy pins himself while you're getting spladled....that has to be unprecedented, right?
Less than a second. We went thru this frame by frame at the time, with the scoreboard time in the clip.I saw this as well and it reminded me of when Nickal pinned Brooks in Carver. He was flat for a second but more is needed to call that on a non-controlled fall.
Kemmerer never broke 45 on that. I don’t know how he did it though. Talk about a buzzkill. . .I'm still trying to figure out how Mark got no back points against some dude from Iowa. Have watched it numerous times, still don't get it.
Well some could probably also argue that RBY was pinned...
I saw him on his back.Kemerer never broke 45 on that. I don’t know how he did it though. Talk about a buzzkill. . .
Pin by Proxy!! Both of RBY’s shoulders were on Gross’s chest while Gross’s blades were on the mat! Lol. Sure! Why not?Well some could probably also argue that RBY was pinned...
"Some" would argue any point rather than admit RBY beat #2 and had a really close match with #1.Well some could probably also argue that RBY was pinned...
Then get some glasses. Great throw from Hall, but Kemerer used the momentum to roll through and stay off his back. It really wasn't that close either. You can maybe argue that Hall had a takedown for a split second before Kem came all the way through, but he wasn't even close to back points.I saw him on his back.

Saw it like nerf. Could have been awarded the takedown, I suppose, but the quick roll through and Kemerer's body position after (nearly vertical, certainly not 45) didn't warrant back points.I saw him on his back.
My eyes are just fine and Mark held him down on the mat, at minimum, it's a takedown. Obviously why Cael challenged the call. The announcers exact words, that's tight, yeah it's tight. That's not said without control. Then get some glasses. Great throw from Hall, but Kemerer used the momentum to roll through and stay off his back. It really wasn't that close either. The referee apparently didn't know the rules then, if a tech fall is earned the only way that wrestler loses is by flagrant misconduct.I've seen it called in high school. The kid was up by 13 points and had the 3 nearfall in the bag for the tech when the ref called the defensive fall.
You sure about that? Top doesn't get the points until he releases the hold, right? The referee apparently didn't know the rules then, if a tech fall is earned the only way that wrestler loses is by flagrant misconduct.
No TD. No Pin. Mark got out wrestled fair and squareMy eyes are just fine and Mark held him down on the mat, at minimum, it's a takedown. Obviously why Cael challenged the call. The announcers exact words, that's tight, yeah it's tight. That's not said without control.
Look it up in the rule book: "Once the technical fall has been earned, the offensive wrestler cannot lose the match." Key word is "earned" (not scored). You sure about that? Top doesn't get the points until he releases the hold, right?
Maybe so but it definitely happened. When the ref called the fall everybody assumed the kid in the spladle got pinned until the ref raised his hand. The referee apparently didn't know the rules then, if a tech fall is earned the only way that wrestler loses is by flagrant misconduct.
That was 2 and 2 everywhere but CarverI saw him on his back.
Then your blind like most in Carver. I never said a fall or back points, but that was a takedown. No TD. No Pin. Mark got out wrestled fair and square

Don't usually like to insert myself in these squabbles, but you did say back points. That's what drew my response. I definitely could see that being called a TD, but it is borderline, because that position allows for reaction time. Then your blind like most in Carver. i really get the feeling you don't know much about college wrestling in general. No takedown. No backs(like you did say) and no Pin. Excellent awareness by Kem to avoid all that. Everyone else at that weight gives up points. Keep those hips to the mat! Then your blind like most in Carver. I never said a fall or back points, but that was a takedown.

Telling a mod he doesn't know what he's talking about ...
Yeah, meant to say TD. That was clearly 2 points, close to back points.Don't usually like to insert myself in these squabbles, but you did say back points. That's what drew my response. I definitely could see that being called a TD, but it is borderline, because that position allows for reaction time.
Kem's awareness to get his right leg out wide and both legs in the air is what saved him here. His hips are parallel with the mat, and his arms slip out of the hold with the extra leverage.
I don't care, I meant TD. Like he has any room to talk.Telling a mod he doesn't know what he's talking about ...
Yeah, I meant take down.Actually you did say back points in your first post on this thread.
Wow...if I called out a mod like that over on HR I'd be banned.i really get the feeling you don't know much about college wrestling in general. No takedown. No backs(like you did say) and no Pin. That's funny. We don't ban unless they go out of their way to call names or the other thing when they have no answer. I misspoke. It's the end of the world. I know nothing. Who cares. I've seen all their posts. Still saying RBY deliberately hurt AD. It is what it is.Wow...if I called out a mod like that over on HR I'd be banned.
Oh wait.... nevermind.
