For OSU to get in with a loss, they need to have PSU ranked high.
They played in a very tough environment against one the top QB/WR tandems in the nation, including the NFL.
I can't be sure but I think they had a true freshman running back. Kurt never said.

Looks like Kirk is as big a homer as ever for the Suckeyes.....gee, have you figured out why he LIED in the days following PSU's win over duhO$U last year claiming the stadium was half-empty and very quiet when the PSU FG "block 6" occurred.....that this play happened with essentially no time, ended the game and as a result, was a "fluke" win by PSU.....why he didn't mention that PSU shutout duhO$U 17-0 over the final 25 minutes of the game, that the Mighty Suckeyes got the ball back after the block with 4 and one-half minutes remaining, down only 3 points and turned it over on downs after gaining 12 yards off the kickoff such that PSU had another full possession even after the block with approximately a minute and one-half remaining and all of their timeouts left, but choose to take the "Victory Formation" to run the clock out because they were leading and didn't need any more points???

Herbie has gotten to be a major homer and he didn't used to be. What he always has done was really talk up future OSU opponents especially if they played them in the next week. It was a more subtle form of homerism. He was insufferable during that Indiana game however.
The only real evidence out there to date is:
(a) Alabama is pretty good,

(b) Florida State no longer has a proven QB.

Agree 100%. A lot of these posters have a lot of nerve calling Herbstreit a "homer". They're blatant homers themselves. They overrate everything we do and downgrade everything other schools do. According to the "nerd squad", the only thing that should be posted by Herbstreit, Farrell, Friedman, other posters, etc. is positive PSU news. Herbstreit's behavior last year was shameful. He had a big part in setting the fluke win narrative last year. He did lie about our fans last year. He used his bully pulpit to push the OSU eye test bullshit.
And today, I listened to Frideman interview the top RB for 2018 and tell him he believes he'll end up at OSU and then talk about PSU's depth at RB as a reason not to go to PSU while OSU has more high talent depth at RB.

People can say it's paranoia or whatever, but there sure seems to be an anti PSU bias in most sports circles. I listened to sports radio today and one of the tandems each did their top three Heisman candidates and six names were mentioned and none of them were Barkley. One even mentioned Dobbins....come on, really?
