Every time we see a mass shooting people lose their minds calling for strict gun legislation. I believe in the second amendment but I'm not a big gun guy and I'd definitely be willing to consider some tougher rules. I'm certainly open to tougher red flag laws and no large clips for kids under 21. The only thing I'd like to avoid is expensive cumbersome legislation that would infringe on my rights while doing little to address the problem. For example, I'd like to be able to give my son a rifle or shotgun without going through and expensive and time consuming registration process.

Unfortunately the whole thing is politics. Republicans bow to the NRA and democrats want the anti gun issue more than they want a solution. How many times have we heard the cry to ban AR-15s? From what I can find on the internet there are approximately 20,000 gun murders per year and only 400 or so are committed with rifles. Maybe 50 with AR-15s. So dems crying about AR-15s even though they account for less than 1% of gun murders. Every life is important and I'm open to suggestions but the AR-15 thing seems to be all politics and little substance.
