Hackenburg write-up in the PPG

Re: Hackenburg write-up in the PPG. Here's hoping he displays

some touch passes when needed. He can make all the throws with authority, some need touch. Sometimes, he was throwing too hard last year during that rough stretch. I think he'll develop the full package this year.

I think he had some "issues" with screen passes. I'm not sure I saw more than 3 thrown in 2 years.
I thought last year we would see more of it with Belton as RB.
Like you I think it will get worked out.

Even last year, Hack made some great throws

I watched a pretty good number of bowl games, and saw very few college QBs that could make the kind of throw that Hack did on occasion last year; I'm thinking about some of his passes in the bowl game vs BC and even in the early game in Ireland. He can drop in a ball to a receiver 25 yards downfield heading toward the sideline.

Really is a special talent, and I expect more great things this coming season. The adversity of last season can make him better (and it wouldn't hurt if we can keep him upright).

I love Hackenberg's dedication to Penn State. He is PSU through and through. He has had a lot of reason to go elsewhere, more than once, more than twice, and has always stayed true to the Blue & White. He is definitely one of my favorite players to wear our proud uniform.

I really hope he decides to stay for his senior year. Highly unlikely if he does well this year. But as they say, hope runs eternal. I think that would be the year that everything really clicks.

The 3rd and 12 throw to Geno Lewis against Rutgers. Beautiful throw.

Got way too much criticism by some.

QBs are going to struggle (and develop bad habits) when the O-line can't protect, there is no running game to take pressure off the passing game and not enough weapons at WR.

Now, that's not to say Hack can't improve on elements of his game, but put him behind dOSU's O-line and run game and it would have been a diff. story.

Hack should have had at least 3 picks in BC bowl game. One TD pass the BC DB was in better position to intercept pass, his batting the ball up allowed A TD. Game should have ended in regulation on interception dropped by BC DB. Not his best performance but got win.

Respect the tradition: Black shoes, basic blues, names on back of jersey's, all game!

Fixed it (again) for ya Knocker!

Re: Hackenburg write-up in the PPG. Here's hoping he displays

The only real issue I saw in the screen game was we could set one up if their life depended on it. Blocking sucked, OL never sold it, RB always seemed to be in traffic either our own OL or the opposing team. Other than that is Hack's fault.

I just want Hack to have a little more game situation awareness and mobility. There were many times on 3rd and 4 or 5 where he could have easily ran for the first down. Instead he took the greater risk of throwing long down field.
