Through a very reliable contact at PCC I was able to find out what happened with Hamlin and why he decided on Pitt. Apparently Hamlin has a 2 year old brother with whom he feels responsible as a father figure for. Hamlin is not from a life or privilege and apparently he acts as the man of the household. So he just could not bring himself to leave the city because of his responsibilities at home for his siblings. This is 100% reliable info. Not sure why the process lasted as long as it did, because the way it was explained to me he was never going anywhere other than Pitt. Though, he did a good job keeping it close to the vest because even this contact was not 100% sure of this as of last week. So don't feel so bad or mad at the coaches. This situation was out of their control.
