This one! Thomas Jefferson, born today in 1743.
Tom said "In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock".

One more.
Happy 75th birthday to Bill Conti, a great American composer.
Bill's work includes the scores for "Rocky" & its sequels, the Bond film "For Your Eyes Only", the remake of "The Thomas Crown Affair", "The Karate Kid", and TV themes like Dynasty, Falcon Crest, and Cagney & Lacy... The man is brilliant, but my favorite Conti score is the music for the TV mini-series, "North and South" (opening song below).

Finally, it's not her birthday, but the pickings for women born today are slim, so here are three photos of a favorite actress of mine, Ashley Williams.

Fair to say, you Scored well in your choices in music, matters of principle and matters of the fair-er sex.

I've lived in approx 18 different apartments, condos, fraternities and houses throughout my life.....STILL waiting for the girl next door to look like any of fair's girls next door.

I did try to fix you up with this one (to walk Fonzie) when you had your knee surgery. I told her to send you a private message on this board. You mean she never did? :(

Fair, I have three of my neighborhood ladies that have helped out and taken Fonzie for walks, but I'm certain she wasn't one of them. Even with my ongoing mentalpause, I'm pretty sure I would remember her either while awake or certainly in my dreams!

Remarkably, once I eventually realized there was a dog in the picture, the basset does have a pretty "fair" resemblance to Fonzie, just looks a little older. But color-wise, pretty close, great job!

nicely done, fair.

I've stood in front of the portrait of Thos Jefferson that you embedded several times. It's a pretty powerful portrait.

I'll add a few others that I think birthday greetings should be sent out to today.

the first greetings go out a lady that was best known for playing the femme fatale in a number of films on the big screen. You likely enjoyed her in Abbott and Costello Go to Mars, as well as Destry, and Escape From Fear. You may also remember her from the TV series Klondike. The lovely Mari Blanchard.

Our next greetings go out to a lady that you enjoyed as Detective Gina Calabrese on the TV series Miami Vice. The lovely Saundra Santiago.

Our final greetings go out to a lady that you likely enjoyed on TV in series such as Home Improvement and Boston Public. In addition, you likely enjoyed her on the big screen in movies such as Angel Heart, Out on a Limb, National Lampoon's Adam & Eve, Say It Isn't So as well as InAlienable. The lovely Courtney Peldon.

very observant, fair. ;)

back in the day, I'm guessing you would have enjoyed spending some time cruising around with Mari in a '55 Buick. I suspect @ericstratton-rushchairman wouldn't use the "back in the day" qualifier. ;)
My uncle Stush had a '55 buick, but by the time I was old enough to drive it, he had traded it in for a '65 mustang, which shocked the whole family. Uncle Stush was over 60 at the time, and my aunt Mary, his wife, was not a happy woman. He bought her a mink stole and solved the problem. It was rare then, and even more so now, to see a woman in a mink stole emerge from a Mustang. They were quite a couple. :)
