I started my day yesterday by baking over 160 American pizzas at my buddies joint.

I woke up today wanting a certain firework. You know the best firework ever... the one that has a tube and parachutes float down. I will be crushing everyone to grab those suckers out of the sky. Women and children be damned.

As good as fireworks are on the 4th of July, nothing beats fireworks in winter. One XMas break I had a big, left-over mortar we missed somehow on the 4th. It was an absolutely silent, still winter night with about half an inch of snow on the ground and not a cloud in the sky. When that baby went off the flash bouncing off the snow and the boom echoing in the still of the night had people coming out of their houses for blocks.

You have the Indian reservations to get your supplies! I’ve seen stuff from there that would probably blow the doors off of a car if it went off inside!

BTW, my favorite 4th of July toy is my scaled down Civil War cannon. It’s a real cannon that fires a black powder charge. It makes a pretty good boom when I fire it!

And you can’t fire bottle rockets without bottles. Hence the need to empty a few six packs before getting started.

I remember making a polish cannon by taping about 8 soda cans together with each end cut out but the 1st can. You'd put a small hole in the end of the 1st can and pour in some bangsite with a little water and light it. I use to shoot them off into a storm drain and listen to the echo going down the street. Cheap and fun entertainment. Happy 4th everyone!
