Jim Harbaugh Opens Foster Home for Troubled 2017 Five-Star Recruits

ANN ARBOR, MICH. — Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh has announced that he will open his home as a foster parent to “any and all” troubled teenage boys in America who also happen to be highly talented football players.

“When it’s all said and done, I want to make more of an impact on this world than just winning some football games,” said Harbaugh. “I also want to be remembered as the greatest recruiter ever, and I think this foster home scheme can get that done.”

The second-year Michigan head football coach was highly aggressive in the final weeks before the 2016 National Signing Day, going as far as having sleepovers with two recruits.
“That was only part of what was reported,” he said, proudly. “I also stared at some other kids through their bedroom window while they slept. One kid, a three-star at a position of need, I moved into his house, slept with his mom and fixed stuff around their house for a week. I became his father. He eventually ended up signing with Tennessee, but it wasn’t because I didn’t try.”

But Harbaugh believes opening a group home for troubled five-star prospects is a way to take his invasive recruiting to the next level.

“There’s nothing in the NCAA rulebook that says I can’t become the foster parent of a bunch of kids who just happen to be recruited by every top program in the country,” said Harbaugh. “And, to be clear ‘troubled’ is very relative here. For one 5-star it can mean both his parents are in jail. For another, it can mean they don’t have an Xbox One in their bedroom. I’ll take any and all great football players.”

Harbaugh said he has already reached out to one recruit/foster child.

“He has a very troubling story,” said the coach. “He said there’s been a weird guy in his 50s constantly texting him and asking if he can sleepover at his house.”
