Nolf and Nickal's head snaps are borderline assault!! I can't remember which Nickal match it was, but you could clearly hear him snapping some skull! Nolf almost snapped IMar's forehead into the mat several times. Fun to watch, brutal to wrestle!

I was surprised at Nolf's ability to almost dribble Imar's head off of the mat. He countered the "Imar strength advantage" pretty quickly in the match, and I believe was the big factor in wearing Imar out.

The Head Snaps were very brutal and I agree definitely had a huge effect on the match. I know Imar loves to bully and throw from the standing position, but I wonder if Imar tried to keep the underhook throw position(cowcatcher) over and over not just cuz he was trying to make a physical statement but in part to keep Nolf off that Head Snap?? I think it got into Imar's head and Imar was like ok you want to be physical, I'll Show you physical.......Just a theory

Nolf/Imar 2 I think will be a very different match..it will be fun to see the adjustments

Heavy hands was also the primary technique Zain used to wear Tshirt down, seems to be a trend.

I think in their next match up, IMar will be coached to do his best Chris Perry impression and have Jason do all the work to try and steal a win in the end. I don't think this will work, this is just my hunch, but I think Jason has his number.
A friend of mine used that term today, "has his number". That implies they are close but Nolf is just a tough match up for IMar.
Of course Jason is a tough match for anyone.
I do not believe Nolf just has IMar's number, right now there is just significant separation between the two.

I hate to say it, but you are reading into that win more than you should..Yes Nolf pinned Imar, but Imar really put a lot of energy into some big physical moves in the early part of that match. Imar did almost put Nolf to his back on that early scramble. Can nolf beat Imar again...Absolutely...do I honestly believe Nolf has a significant separation from Imar based off of that match..NO. I hope you are right and I am wrong.

I'm buying everything that you're selling here mammy. Started rewatching in slow mo tonight to see if I could get a couple screenshots, and I think you're spot *(&(ing on! First minute of p1, Nolf bounced his head down like 6 times! Then with 2 mins left in p1, IMar totally did just what you're saying. You can practically see the thought bubble pop up, like 'ok (&(S&&(& you wanna go toe to toe? Let's go.' But he was wild and terribly unrealistic given Nolf's admitted comfort in the position. He burned so much energy trying those underhook throws, that I'm convinced contributed to his gassing so quickly. Still, at about 1:45 left, he had perfect position--big wide stance, underhooks deep & high, and he finally got Nolf off balance and Nolf's shoulder blades were perpendicular to the floor & he looked for all intents & purposes like he was about to end up on his back. But Nolf's 'off balance' is different than everybody else's (save for maybe Nickal). The gyroscope in his hips kicked in, he basically just threw his arms over his head to allow the hips to do their thing, he got his left leg back and caught himself with his left arm. A few more seconds of a totally sick scramble and Nolf was getting his first takedown.

IMar wasn't totally demoralized after that--he did fight hard to earn a sweet double leg TD of his own, but he was tired. No doubt about it. Had no fight for when Nolf's tank kicked in. But yeah, I saw that too. "Get off my head, man! Come and get some of this." Very cool battle. I agree, if Perry & Hunter are worth their salt, we'll see a bit of a different match in the B1G finals.

Don't see separation here either. IMar is right there. Lots and lots of situations that could have turned in IMar's favor during the match. Big 10s and NCAAs will be epic battles. I agree IMar will try to pick his spots better next time and not expend so much energy early on. But will that be enough if Nolf pushes the pace for seven minutes? We will see. Go Jason!
