LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts and Ohio State teammates quarterback Justin Fields and defensive end Chase Young are headed to New York this weekend as finalists for the Heisman Trophy.

The 85th edition of the award for the most outstanding college football player will be announced Saturday in a ceremony televised on ESPN beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

Burrow, who spent the first three years of his career at Ohio State, is the heavy favorite to win after throwing for an SEC-record 48 touchdown passes and 4,715 yards, while leading the Tigers to the conference title.

Should be a rule you can’t win the Heisman if you had to transfer because you couldn’t win the starting job at the school you were at...means you’re definitely not the best player in the country...hell, you’re not the best player at that school. Also, remember when Larry Johnson and Barkley didn’t win because they had a couple bad games against their better opponents? Apparently the Heisman voters didn’t watch Chase Young against Michigan and Wisconsin....he was non-existent for both games. Isn’t a Heisman finalist supposed to show up in the biggest games?

Hubbard and Taylor should be there as well. Heck, probably Dobbins over Young IMO. Heisman isn't best players any longer it is the best players on the best teams. You can be a great player but if the other side of the ball on your team cannot handle their business, away goes any Heisman chance. Heisman has been a joke for a long long long time.

He made even fewer plays in the Maryland and Rutgers games.

True dat. Limited impact in 4 of the teams 13 games. Yet the hype machine was started. How many times will they praise him for his honesty in coming forth? Conveniently ignoring the fact that he only came forth once he was caught, and at a very fortuitous time. Also ignores the fact that OSU used an illegal player in 7 games this year.

NCAA should win the hesiman for allowing Fields to transfer without sitting out since a baseball player said a racial slur. All the while his sister is still there. And chase young having the super tough punishment missing Rutgers and Maryland maybe next year he can sit out the directional Michigan game

Osu should have to vacate all those games.
