Folks,

Each year at the end of the wrestling season, the Hodge Trophy is awarded. It's the equivalent of the Heisman Trophy, though not nearly as famous (unless you are a wrestling fan).

This year, there are 4 finalists in the running for the Hodge Trophy:

- Alex Dieringer, Oklahoma State
- Hahshon Garrett, Cornell
- Kyle Snyder, Ohio State
- Zain Retherford, Penn State

Fans are allowed to vote for the award, and the top vote getter in the fan vote is awarded two first-place votes.

The wrestling community has been voting a good bit since the fan voting started yesterday. That said, I'd like to engage the larger PSU community in the effort.

For those that don't follow wrestling all that much, Zain Retherford was undefeated in the recently completed wrestling season, won a NCAA title, and was awarded the Most Dominant Wrestler award at the end of the NCAA Championships -- an award that is based on all matches for the entire season. While all of the finalists are excellent wrestlers, Zain Retherford should not take a back seat to any of them.

You can vote for Zain at THIS LINK. Voting runs until 6 pm EDT on Friday (March 25). You can vote as many times as you'd like. ;) Also, a heads up that the web site for the election doesn't seem equipped to handle all the hits, so you may get an error message when you click on the above link. Be patient, and keep trying, as you will eventually get in.

Vote early, and vote often.

Thanks in advance to all those that take the time to vote for Zain.

folks, please step up and vote for Zain. he's been ahead for most of the voting, but the margin has slipped to @ 350 votes.

You can vote until 6 pm EDT on Friday (March 25th).

Done. Lead is now down to 368 votes. Oklahoma State made up a few thousand votes today.

If you hit the limit in votes earlier- it looks like the limit has been removed. Okie light is closing the gap still. Start voting!! ;)

I saw on the osu site you can vote by Twitter by tweeting 'Zain Retherford for #hodgetrophy' and you can apparently tweet/ vote multiple times by adding a character like an ! That's likely how OSU is closing the gap because the win magazine link is too slow and has trouble connecting at times. Time for ChiTown to work his Twitter magic. ;)

Can't get in to vote.

If someone can get in, please vote.

Looks like Zain may be passed at this rate, unless PSU keeps voting.

It's early in OK so they probably have lots of active voters.

I just voted again, and was disappointed to see the vote total -- Dieringer had taken a small lead over Zain Retherford. Keep voting, folks.
