I'm a PSU fan.. never worshiped Joe (admired him). Joe was great in the 80's.. but tarnished his only legacy a bit by staying WAY to long. "Top of his game Joe" used to tell people he would never coach his whole life away, old Joe seemed to have "selective memory" when it came to the claims of young Joe.

I hope Joe was not complicit with our resident monster. I can tell you this, I'm sure the hell ready to move on, after 94 Joe became a drag on my Nits, not a a prime mover. I admired Joe yada, yada, yada.. the only thing he is right now is a drag on the program and he put us in a really tough situation. A younger Joe would have never been steamrolled and punked by that group of over-employed clowns that pose at the PSU BOT.

If this stuff went down and Joe would have been in his rocker where he belonged, we would not have been hit 1/5th as hard--nobody ever seems to mention this though? Not only did Joe hurt himself and his legacy, he buried our program for years by his lack over oversight and inability to keep his house in order. He is now the "patron saint of people who worked too long".

And guys, I find it hard to believe that I started hearing these rumors 3-4 years before this stuff went down and nobody at PSU knew anything was going on. As I look back, Joe simply did not do near enough, if you go to your boss because Vinny down the hall has raped your co-worker and your boss sits on it--it's time to raise some hell and quit all at the same time...even if it's "horseplay" you better make sure those horses are checked up on. If that is PSU than PSU isnt' a good place. And Mike M may not have physically confronted JS (and Big Red is a big tough dude) but he sure as hell should made sure the situation was addressed. This was a miserable FAIL the whole way around. We can canonize Joe, but I know a guy with young kids like @LaJolla Lion or other of you that I've met in person would NEVER go away quietly if they saw this happen to a kid down the street. I do know some jackhole bosses that would push this upstairs like Joe did, but I don't admire any of the compliance pencil pushers. I'm tired of hearing he did enough, cause he simply didn't come close. I can see why outside perception and optics are horrible right now.

If I wasn't a PSU guy I would have slaughtered Joe like everybody else did.. God forbid this happened to tOSU or UM.. it would be a whole different msg board the last 6 years. I think some of us are flat out going blind..

and BTW... I didn't bring this back up.. check the radio/internet/newspapers.. and no, this won't go away.. issues will keep coming back like a bad set of leaking underground pipes that you can't see.-sg
