I was in the Anderson Valley a little over a week ago, where they make some really great Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. We tasted at Lichen, Goldeneye, Navarro, Baxter, Witching Stick, and Maggy Hawk. The Anderson Valley is closer to the coast, and is a ways north of the Bay Area so, unlike the Napa and Sonoma Valleys, you really can't go there, taste wine, and drive back home in a single day. We stayed in Mendocino while there.
Anyway, I was very interested in tasting at Goldeneye, because they make a very good Pinot Noir and because they are part of the Duckhorn Portfolio of wines, along with Duckhorn, Decoy, Paraduxx, Migration and Canvasback.. The grounds at Goldeneye were beautiful and the wine was great, but the reason I am commencing this thread is that, when we sat down, we were presented with invitations to future Duckhorn Portfolio winery events, including the following invitation:
"Brunch in the Name of Love (Migration Pride Event, June 10, 2023): Celebrate Pride Month and National Rosé Day in style at Migration's Drag Brunch Experience. Join us for delicious brunch-inspired bites and drag entertainment alongside a flight of Rosé from The Duckhorn Portfolio's world-class wineries as well as music. Experience wine country as never before as a diverse cast of stunning performers bring energy and drama to the catwalk."
I was surprised and amused to see that Migration Vineyards had organized such an event, but immediately realized that I needed to report back to you guys on another development in the continuing decline of Western Civilization. I wanted to make sure that you guys were aware of this, so that you could add Migration Vineyard (and perhaps the rest of the Duckhorn Portfolio of wineries) to your boycott list. Maybe Matt can go there on June 10th and hold a protest.
