Holding

I saw at least 3 galring instances throughout the game where PSU jerseys were pulled - no call. Also, the Levis interception, no doubt it was a poor decision to try and throw it there, but on the replay, I noticed that Pat got absolutely mugged. How was that not PI; was it because it was within 5 yards of the LOS?

I'm all for letting them play. And it clearly appears 13 is held from that angle. However, our DT's are missing in action. Blown completely off the LOS. And 18 should never play a down on the goal line. He simply isn't big enough to make a difference in short yardage situations against good talent. Notice they run to his side of the formation.

You can go through the replay and find uncalled holds on both sides. I saw quite a few holds against Chase Young.
I’m sure. But the result of the play is often disparate. In the um iu game yesterday when it was right indiana makes a four and one, they call holding and iu punts.

It is not just that they don't call them but the time and position on the field that they don't call them, perfect example 4 and goal from the one, a clear hold on 13 in the hole were osu runs for a td, should have been 4 and goal at the 11. By the way Pat's catch at the goal line was an easy td call they missed. I just noticed in that pick Toney was getting blocked in back- what a joke.

Go the OSU boards and they're complaining about Chase Young getting held the whole game along with other DL. It's the same on all boards after a game. Refs are always getting slammed

While I'll agree with your premise wolve, why isn't it being called. In this day and age with technology being what it is, where is the accountability. I watched CFB all day yesterday and officials were horrendous. A missed PI against GA. official staring right at the man, A&M was driving to win the game. I thought got to protect your brand. If Georgia loses lots of lost dollars for the conference.

Crying in one's beer is said to be therapeutic in some quarters.

That was called at the very end of the game. It was funny cause everyone said, "now you called holding" It was declined cause they got a sack anyway.

Alright then, let's talk about the plays at 0:28, 0:55, and 1:55 where he's obviously held with no call.

And that's only on plays where he made the play anyway...

Do you have the cutups where he lined up offsides or your RT lined up next to Fields? The refs did flag the RT once, but he kept doing the same thing all game.

watch that play in real time. Sorry I doubt you ever get a hold on that play. Now if PSU plays it correctly, OSU doesnt have a play. 97 gets reached blocked and then 13 compounds the problem by going around the block. If 97 doesnt get reached and 13 steps up and fills the hole with his outside arm free, they dont really have a play, after that it is let the best man win. 11 is right over the center, which should allow 97 to play the next hole over, and not get reached.

Holding became very difficult to call once they changed the rules allowing O linemen to use their hands. Used to be you couldn't extend your arms out to the side or use your hands on a guy. They changed that because Ds were getting too fast and the passing game suffered. And QBs injured.

Now they extend arms and push with their hands. Its hard to tell when a guy is holding, or when arms accidentally got entangled, or when a defender purposely gets himself hooked to draw a penalty.

Very tough on refs......
