so your team is in the bonus.. you are shooting 1 and 1... if you miss the free throw that can be a 3 point swing--never understood how automatically sending a the team to the line was advantage for having been fouled. It would seem way more logical if the team was given the option to take the ball back back out or or shoot the free throw. This would really shorten the game and give the team with the lead (often times the better team) a higher win probability.
You could argue that the team should have to shoot free throws when not in the bonus, and be given that choice when they are.
