Dickerson already said he's rooting against him and doesn't believe he'll do it which makes me want him to do it even more.
That said, if I'm an Eagles fan I'd rather him sit the finale and rest for the playoff. As great as it would be to beat the record especially against the Giants I'm sure he cares way more about a potential ring.

He’s not going to get it in 16 games anyway so I’d rather see him get to 2,000 and call it a day. The playoff run is much more important.
I don't think Hurt being injured helps. One thing that Barkley has going for him is that opposing defenses have to worry about Hurt Passing and running. Without him the defense can key on Barkley.
The other thing is how many carries Barkley gets in the final week if Philadelphia's secures the #2 seed this week.
He’s averaging .3 more yards a carry so he’d still get it in less carries - 1 game extra or not
I understand but that’s if he gets it at all. Without Hurts and/or Barkley the Eagles are not making a run. If Saquon gets to showcase his talents in the Super Bowl that will enhance his reputation more than breaking Dickerson’s record. Dickerson has had that record for 40 years and you don’t hear a whole lot about him. Smith, Payton, Sanders and even Franco are more highly regarded.
There was an article I read that if the Eagles have their seed set they will rest everyone and basically “gift” the Giants a win. The pettiness on the Eagles end there is if the Eagles completely lay down it doesn’t affect them at all, but it will give the Giants a win and knock them from the one or two pick (giving them their QB of the future) to the 7 pick and no QB locking them in the QB hell they are currently in and prolonging their NFC East ineptitude. Going to be interesting to see what happens with that game.
Cam Ward and Deion’s kid seem to be the top two QB’s. I don’t like either of them at all. I think the Eagles should want to win and have the Giants pick one of those two duds.
If I'm the Giants I'd be thrilled to wait a year as this QB class is....questionable.
Huge 2nd half to put him in shouting distance. Dickerson was and still is an asshole, so it would be great for Barkley to get it
If I'm an Eagles fan I'm not happy with the 30 carries today in a blowout. Unbelievable season...just hope they rest him next week to make a run in the playoff.
I doubt that Barkley will get too many carries it's a meaningless game.
I also doubt that Josh Allen will play after the 1st quarter next week.
That’s why Dickerson is rooting against him, unlike Sanders/Jeanty. Saquon breaks the record and it’s the last time you’ll really hear about Dickerson until he passes away.
He still has a rookie rushing record that might not be broken...but agree. He's desperate to be remembered
New England now in position for the first pick. Pats are not taking a QB. Unless they really want Hunter, I would expect them to trade down (but not too far) with a QB hungry team like Giants or Browns, perhaps even the Raiders.
Hell the Giants may have finally tried today so they don't get the first pick with Ward and Sanders as the option
I think the Pats probably take Hunter unless Cleveland does something very Cleveland-esque
I’ve seen very little of the Pats, but assume they need players. If they could trade down a bit (remain in the top 8 or so picks) and add a high second-round choice, it may be worth passing on Hunter.
I don’t see Sanders as a top five level player, but I think Ward could eventually be a pretty good NFL QB.
Yeah like if the Raiders want to give up a second to move up 2-3 spots then they still get Hunter or Johnson it would make sense. Or if Cleveland offers 3 firsts. You just never know
Honestly I think this is a relatively weak draft so if there's a player you love then you get them. Carter is another player most mocks have outside the top 5 but if he falls that far team will regret it.
