If fans are fortunate enough to be able to attend Big Tens this year and/or the Olympic Trials, what hotel would be a better option?
The Ramada Inn on 1450 S Atherton St or the Country Inn and Suites on 1357 E College Ave? I assume it's a cheap uber either way, but just looking for a little insight if either location is better for getting back and forth between/after sessions.

The Country Inn is closer. However, traffic should not be a problem until you are close to the BJC no matter which direction you come from. Once there, parking at BJC has been a major Cluster**** every time I have been there for wrestling duals unless you get there real early. If the weather is nice get there early and tailgate.

Of the hotels you listed, I'd rather stay at the Country Inn because it's probably much nicer. (Though at about the same price, the neighboring Hilton Garden Inn is better still and has a nice restaurant.)

But if it were me, proximity to BJC would be a low priority unless I wanted to walk to the arena. You're probably not returning to the room between sessions. Instead, I'd book a room based upon where I want to be afterward.

If you want to walk to the BJC: Nittany Lion Inn, the downtown hotels, Hampton Inn on E. College, or the hotels along North Atherton before Giant. All also are walking distance to downtown -- except I wouldn't want to walk on College Ave outside town (Uber from Hampton Inn). Also note that the Inn is being used for student housing this semester, so it might not be available for either event.

I also wouldn't want to rely on Uber to the arena. Like NoVa said, expect traffic backups. I'd rather stay at the Inn or the Penn Stater and use their free shuttles. Or drive in myself, park elsewhere (Creamery, Eisenhower, HUB, or downtown) and walk from there -- which would make every hotel viable.

Here’s my original, copyrighted advice:

Hotel, motel, Holiday Inn. You see, if your girl starts acting up, then you take her friend.

Just buy a condo.

Hampton Inn is closest to BJC. But all area hotels are within 10-15 minutes. Pick your best deal. You’ll be at the BJC more than the hotel!

I just wish they would announce the dates. I think Roar posted a while ago they were just about set on the date yet still not announced.

No necessarily a foregone conclusion. A lot of $$$ and contingency plans involved. Just the retro fitting for CoVid 19 protocols are significant.

This is depressing, even if it is a small sacrifice in the larger scheme of things.

I expect my BJC Olympic Trial ticket to go the way of my PSU football season tickets (lucky if to be able to buy a game, if there's any games). If the seating is going to look like the class in the BJC that I saw tweeted, I believe few tickets will be honored.

Still, for the wrestlers' sake, I hope they have the trials and Olympics.

I was only sort of joking here, since my better half and I did just that a week ago, closing in early Oct. We'll not be in SC full time, but I'll certainly be there for wrestling events. Ideally we find a small handful of repeat renters for other events, like football, arts fest, parents weekend, etc.

have had one outside bellefonte for a bout 12 years. very convenient, as we have tix for fb,mbb, wbb, wrestling and hockey. really can't rent it, as we're there for one sport or another from sept to april
