Yes, they are sold through PSU and in the case of too many requests, NLC point standings are used. Nobody really knows what section is the PSU section until the tickets are received.

OK. Thanks. Any idea what the point level was to be sure you get tickets?

They are in Cleveland next year, the university will confiscate half or more of their allotment to distribute to non wrestling ticket holders who have serious points.

I have season tickets, so can I assume that gets me priority? I also have 300+ NLC points. That's not a lot, but I don't think a high percentage of wrestling fans are NLC members. Again, making an assumption.

I was the original poster with no response. Not a season ticket holder (live in Pittsburgh), but have 522 NLC points, so hoping that gets me far up the list for tickets.

...I may be "swimming upstream" with my feelings on this but here goes...
...I think it is wrong that the NLC decides who gets the limited number of tickets for the NCAA Wrestling Championship and parcels them out primarily based on NLC points...!
... when the team was in the middle of the pack many of these people wouldn't cross the street to see a wrestling match. Football was their only interest - and that's fine. Now that we have had some success they are all of a sudden wrestling fans clamoring for championship tickets based on their support of football only over the yesrs. As a result, many long term (20-30 year) supporters of the wrestling program who have dutifully supported the team, loyally attended home and away meets and supported the Penn State Wrestling Club are denied tickets for the main event.
... It was particularly disappointing last year for the championship in NYC when many NLC members who never were interested in wrestling came out of the woodwork and were escorted to the front of the line.
...somewhere there should be some accomadation for decades of loyalty counting in the equation. I know that wrestling season ticket holders and PSWC membership are considered but I'll bet a thousand or more NLC points trumps everything.
...but thas jes my opinion...

There's some misinformation in this thread. The PSWC does not do tickets, the NCAA allotment is managed completely by the Athletic Department Ticket Office. NYC was an exception, in that the Wrestling Club was able to get suites, and managed pass through money between fans and MSG, the number of tickets being above and beyond what the NCAA gave Penn State.

The ticket allotment is set by the NCAA, and PSU has requested more than they have received for several years now, though they (the ticket office and administrators) do work with the NCAA and other schools when there is a shortfall...which, to be honest, hasn't happened often.

The criteria for receiving tickets, and seating, is on the application. It could change at any time, but has been consistent for years now. It consists of;
Season Ticket holder first, in NLC Point order.
Non-Season Ticket holders in NLC Point order, though ONLY Season Ticket Holders and PSWC Members (as of 8/1) get applications in the mail.
Due date for applications was moved from June 30 to September 30 for the first time, for St. Louis tickets.

All great for those who live close enough to State College to be able to have and use Season Tickets. I personally hate when the national is anywhere near PSU as every time recently it's been a major fight to find tickets as my ticket request through the NLWC (as a member) have been denied. I'm expecting this to be the case for Cleveland too.

Having gone to nearly 30 straight NCAA tournaments I wish PSU would appreciate and reward PSWC members who are long time, regular NCAA attendees instead of prioritizing newly minted PSU wrestling "fans". Where were they when we used to finish 16th? Probably watching basketball ...
