How does it feel now, screw the following.

It is over.

Time to move on. As in, Big Ten champions, and a monster rotting in prison.

Joe is smiling in Heaven. It is ok, move on now.

Joyner may have been an incompetent AD, but he made the 2 hires that got us here.

And the Franklin hire was no easy hire.
Franklin was not all that difficult . He wanted to come back to Pennsylvania. Within hours of O'BRIENs departure his name was at the top of the list.

That's not true at all.

There was TONS of pressure to go with Al Golden. Franklin wasn't seriously talking until he finished his bowl game, and Joyner broke off the negotiations with Al Golden's agent and waited out Franklin. It was a huge gamble letting Golden walk.

Plus, Joyner could have let the player criminal trial at Vandy affect his decision. He didn't and it was another bold move, given the sensitivity of PSU'a circumstances.

Even Rodney went to bat and went back to the BOT to ask for more compensation when Vanderbilt made him a huge offer to stay.

There was nothing given about that situation until the ink was dry.

Not saying I love Joyner and Erickson but that hire was the one time I saw some balls at PSU since the scandal had hit.

Golden was right there also.
Remember how the BOT dropped the ball when an agreement in Principle was in place . We all knew it was one of those 2 from the start.

Hey 21, I couldn't agree more! Our fans complain anytime some talking head brings up the scandal, including me. But a lot of folks, including a lot of those that post on this board, bring it up one way or another every day.
Delaney got his rude awakening last night! And it felt great! But there isn't anything positive that is going to come out of the constant rehash of what happened on this board or elsewhere.
Let it go folks! Time to move on and look to the future and forgive the past.

Ain't letting nothing go. Both my middle fingers will be blazing for many, many years. ****'em all.

There was never an agreement in principle with Golden. Just basic terms were structured.

Recall the issue was that Golden and his agent wanted to expedite the deal because the info was out there that he was interested and interviewed for the PSU job. Al couldn't have that cloud hanging over the program for several days.

Joyner instead wanted to let the process play out and interview Franklin who made it clear he wasn't interviewing until his season was finished. This went against the wishes of many on the search committee who just wanted to get the deal done with Golden.

Joyner deserves credit for that decision to wait for JF, because it was clearly a risk and not the popular one with the search committee.

It's possible to do both - certain people need to be held publically accountable for our community to fully heal. Great lyric that holds true in this instance sums it up for me (thank you Dixie Chicks)...

Forgive, Sounds good.
Forget, I'm not sure I could.
They say time heals everything,
But I'm still waiting.

I'm through with doubt
There's nothing left for me to figure out
I've paid a price,
And I'll keep paying.

I'm not ready to make nice, I'm not ready to back down
I'm still mad as hell and I don't have time to go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
Probably wouldn't if I could
Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is you think I should.

Maybe the NCAA should "move on". Clearly with this snub of PSU they HAVE NOT !!!
I can understand they do not want to hear how they screwed up.
If I were in charge, assuming we win in the Rose, we should just announce OUR ""MNC, just as their's is. After all it is ALL subjective !!! We could have a trophy AND a parade :)

Franklin was - or at least, should have been - a "no-brainer"

You say that with hindsight, but see my explanation above.

Joyner was the one who didn't give into the deadline set by Golden and his agent. Everybody around him second guessed this decision.

People need to stop being blinded by hatred and recognize that Joyner actually played a major role in our turnaround by making Franklin his guy and not succumbing to significant internal pressure to go with the PSU guy.

I will agree with that if you recognize that Joyner was a big part in why a turnaround was necessary. No "turnaround" is necessary without Joyner's "contributions."

Joyner so f'd the program and university over. Heck, its the reason why the beloved FLO bolted and cast dispersions on the leadership. Joyner - 4 coaches in 2 years. Yeah, great leadership my ass.
