How is everyone containing their excitement

over the very real chance that Saban's 2d stringers are gonna beat UM like circus ponies?

I, for one would love to see a beat down of epic proportions.
Not sure it will be a beatdown. Wondering about Alabama's motivation unless the players filling the gaps by those sitting out are hungry to prove themselves going into next year.

Agree, dem. This game is a can’t lose proposition. Always love seeing Saban’s face when his team is losing (looks like he swallowed a pint of sour milk), b ut a Tide beatdown of the Wolverines would also be hugely entertaining. UM losing big and Bama going nowhere is a pretty good combination.

Don't agree with you too often, but in this case, I will be watching with interest. Screw UM....

Bama might be the one school I'd pull for any big ten team against. They perpetually get the benefit of the doubt and need to start losing ooc games to teams not named Clemson. Harbaugh gonna Harbaugh next year even if they win.

I fear tho that if Bama wins big they might rank them ahead of us. Vaunted Don Brown defense etc

I'm looking forward more to Jonathan Taylor running for 250 against Oregon.
Why in the world would you want that? To justify Wiscy getting into the Rose Bowl? To give pollsters an opportunity to rank Wiscy ahead of us despite three losses (except for some reason they don’t count the second OSU loss or the Illinois loss)?

Imagine if Wisconsin could somehow lose to OSU three times in a season. They'd be a top five team.

But if Michigan scores the last two touchdowns, and their receiver drops a pass or something, they will be winners!

^^^^ THIS ^^^^ Plus, don't forget IF Michigan has some turnovers then they really did not lose.

The two new narratives I heard from the main stream sports media following Penn State games this year:

1. "Michigan REALLY won the game even though they did not score more points" ... After we beat Michigan. The sports-world media took the narrative that even though Penn State won the game, Michigan was the better team because they outplayed us...... This was a new narrative.

2. "The Penn State game was really not that close and was really a blow out. The only reason it was as close as 11 points was because Ohio State turned the ball over" .... After we only lost by 11 to Ohio State. The sports-world media took the narrative that a defense causing a turn-over does not matter and turn-overs by the offense need to be taken into consideration when determining the real outcome.

You’re forgetting “Wisconsin should not be penalized for playing an extra game and should get into the Rose Bowl even with three losses”. We have to admit that the creativity being used to screw Penn State is getting quite ingenious....do they do this kind of manipulation to screw any other team?

I'm rooting for a 6-4 finish...don't care who has 6.

No they don't, and this sort of thing has been going on since the late 1960's.

I won't be surprised to see Michigan hang with Bama. There could be a huge motivation discrepancy and I'm not sure how much Bama's nfl prospects want to play this game.

A huge majority of the money has been bet on Alabama yet the line stays at 7. Interesting.

And the mysterious evaporation of a loss to a Illinois team that just concluded a 7 loss season. Just think about that for a second......if they want to say "don't punish Wisconsin for loosing an extra game," fine, stupid, but fine, I'll concede it, but you have to punish them for loosing to a 7 loss team right? I mean, mightily punish them right?

Speaking of the BIG10 Network is PSU's Win in the Cotton Bowl up yet ? They had Iowa's win up the next day.

Actually, THIS particular narrative only has relevancy dating back the last 5 years & the CFP. The entire narrative to justify Wiscy going to the Rose over us was... "You should not be penalized for having to play an extra game and losing that extra game" .... meaning that if you make your Conference Champ game and you lose that Conf Champ game... you should not be penalized...

There were just 2 minor problems with using that convenient narrative for this year:

1. This was the first time in the history of college football conference championship games they used the "the losing team should not be punished" narrative. The SEC has been playing a Conf Champ game since the early 90s. The B1G Conf Champ game is a good 10-20 years old. The Big12 and ACC also have played a Conf Champ game for several years ... In all the other years, if you lost your Conf Champ game... you dropped in bowl status & you dropped in the polls.

2. Consistency.... If this theory was a brand new revelation, then OK... but be consistent. They did NOT punish Wiscy for losing in the B1G Champ game. They did NOT punish Baylor for losing in the Big12 Champ game. They did NOT punish Virginia for losing by about 50 points in the ACC Champ game ..... Then why did they punish Utah for losing in the Pac12 Champ Game??? If you did not punish Wiscy, Baylor and Virginia, why did you drop Utah about 7 spots????

>> The answers are because this was the required narrative for THIS years NY6 bowl games to give them their desired match-ups. It was pure 100% political.

So, I want to see Wiscy destroyed. They pre-arranged Wiscy in the Rose with this BS narrative, so I want to see it back-fire in their faces. I want to see Oregon just destroy Wiscy. I want Wiscy to produce the most embarrassing Rose Bowl effort in history.

And why wasn’t Georgia in the CFP after the SEC championship game? I mean a team shouldn’t be punished for playing an extra game. And Wiscy losing by 50 would be nice.

Michigan is the new Pitt, victory in a loss and another National Championship.

Very, very similar programs form the leather helmet days. I give Pitt more credit since they had 1 MNC since the war whereas UM has had 1/2 MNC's. Oh how they long for the leather helmet days of glory and dominance.. But hey, Pitt had the post war glory days of 1973 - 1982 (Majors/Sherrill era) but oh wait. they were 3-7 versus their rival. And of course UM had "Bo" who was an ass kicker in a 2 man conference and a train wreck in bowl games against teams that had a pulse. All of that leads to that chin and nose in the air pomposity
