How many can imagine PSU in this game in 3 years? A brief exercise of my imagination...
PSU 2016 - competes like hell in practice, in games, everywhere - may or may not see an improvement in the W-L record, but it is a fun season with big offensive plays, solid glimpses of great play, but generally inexperience and a few gaps cost us in big games. Still we get a signature win to signal we are on our way back. The 2017 recruiting class is ranked in the Top 8, as we land multiple 5 stars and fill in depth at positions of need.
PSU 2017 - PSU wins and wins big against the teams we should beat. We are in close games with the other B1G 3 - OSU, MSU, and UM - We win one, lose two close, but we are right there.
The 2018 recruiting class is lights out with kids we barely know right now - but it is loaded. Top 3 class as we are a team on the rise and everyone knows it.
PSU 2018 - We run the table with a dominant win vs. UM, a tight win vs. OSU and a surprise blow-out vs. MSU to end the season. We beat an out-manned Nebraska team in the B1G title game and a #2 seed to an undefeated LSU team. Both teams win their 1st round games - LSU beats Texas, and PSU beats Stanford in a slugfest.
Though some of you might need some optimism and general thoughts of good-will tonight.
