A comment on another board indicates that Andrew Howe is leaving Oklahoma for Northwestern. They didn't indicate position, but it would be nice to see Northwestern get out of its funk and start competing at the top levels again.

That would be great news for the B1$ and bad for the Midwest conference. OU is not where I personally thought it would be when Cody was hired away from american.

Back to northwestern. ....Doubt they can make a run as a super dual team but if they do it right they can get 4 or 5 studs to compete for tourney championship which would be great considering the market they are in.

If true love the hire.

I think Oklahoma will be better next year, everyone except Brewer is coming back (and although he's probably not on his level, Lucas will be a fine addition to the lineup)

Northwestern was always a team that could make a splash if every guy in the lineup was healthy. Problem is the depth issue, but they have talent. Also last year was just a nightmare all around. So, I think you see better results from them as well.

Howe is from Indiana. If from northern Indiana, this is practically a return home for him. Real good pickup for Storniolo if true.

Confirmed in the last few minutes that Howe is indeed going to Northwestern. Not sure in what capacity yet.

Willie just confirmed -- and added "Not surprised at the exodus from OU."

Any insight as to why an exodus wouldn't be surprising? Is it lack of Olympic-level development? Or is Cody reverting to his alleged behavior at American?

I don't know Cody's history at American, but rumors speak to a lack of commitment to recruiting and the appearance that he is not "all in" in his capacity as head coach.

Coming on the heals of the Brewer to PSU news, this makes one suspicious that all is not well in Norman.

Always thought highly of Cody. First I became aware of this and am surprised.

The university denied the allegations & the suit was dismissed eventually because LoPiccolo had waited too long to file it.

I don't know Cody (and it can't be a good sign about the direction of the program that guys like Howe and Brewer are bailing), but this lawsuit shouldn't make anyone think less of him. The allegations were never even tested in court. If I had to pass judgment (as a sober-minded anonymous message board poster with no legal training who spent 11 minutes over a cup of coffee this morning gathering and evaluating the facts) I would have to call B.S. LoPiccolo's claims don't pass the sniff test for me. He seems like a guy who was looking for a way to quit wrestling without giving up his full ride.
