So I’m sitting here with the wife at Mattucci’s Willow Cafe enjoying some food and libations and who comes walking in.......Henry Hynoski Sr and Jr

Unfortunately they are in town for the viewing of Carm Defrancesco’s father who passed away earlier this week.

Go talk to them, they are good old coal region boys. Jr will be taking over as head football coach for the moribund Shamokin Indians next year. I hope he can inject some life into a once proud program as it is in sad shape at the moment.

Yes I know he is going to Shamokin....that is going to be one tough job there let me tell you

Rumor has it that he is just biding his time to take over for Roth when he retires at SCA

I coached Jr High at MCA for almost a decade and when Hyno Jr was in 8th grade he was going to transfer to his roots (MCA), but decided against it at the last minute.......I was THIS CLOSE to coaching a future NFL’er !!

But then again, if I got ahold of him he might not have made it !

Damn. Now you got me hungry for Matuccis. Haven’t been there in years but the food was awesome.

Sr was 3 yrs ahead of me in HS. A really impressive athlete
We didn't play them in football, but we ran them in track.

They are both great people, very engaging in public. Sometimes the service at Mattucis is not good

When at Matucci's say hello to Nick for Dennis Burkett we were team mates at Southern and often drove together to practice as he lived in Bear Gap and I lived in Overlook. I have not seen him in 50 years. We had a football reunion with Coach Sarra at State College a few years before he passed away. Nick was unable to attend due to the business.

I will - I see him mostly when I do a "Take Out" order in the back.........was at the bar last night so didn't see him.
