While our political system can best be defined as a constitutional republic, it is also accurate to say we are a "democracy" in so far as we can pretty much say and do as we please. Within the parameters of the law, citizens in this country (and non-citizens) face very few restrictions in how we live our lives and how we express ourselves. People on the political left are especially free to say what they want as they have established near dominance over the media, entertainment industry, university campuses and the internet for much of the past few decades. Therefore, they don't regularly face repercussions from the "woke mob" as long as they march in lockstep with progressive orthodoxy.

If Trump gets elected, that will signal that the erosion of leftist power and influence we all sense has been occurring is, in fact, the wave of the future. Lefties will still be able to express whatever opinion(s) they wish, but will face an American public less interested in listening to what they have to say. The minimalization of leftist ideology in the ongoing nation political debate is what Democrats fear most. A growing plurality of Americans of all races are tuning the left out, changing the channel and--most disturbing to them--laughing at them.

He's not a threat to our Republic obviously, but he does represent a substantial threat to the left being heard and obeyed.
