Nothing is permanent. A few years ago, it looked like it would be USC and Texas every year...where are they now?
Very true, but man, doesn't it just seem that none of that applies to Ohio State?
1. Tressel gets fired.
2. Fickel takes over and has a bad season. Maybe there's hope that the Big Ten dynasty is over.
3. Meyer decides he's well enough to coach again and goes to OSU.
4. Double-digit wins every year return.
5. Star QB Haskins leaves early. Backup is a downgrade ... hope for the East division?
6. 5-star QB from GA decides to transfer out because he can't win the starting job.
7. NCAA says "sure ... no problem. Immediately eligible."
9. Meyer resigns a 2nd time for health. Maybe now there's hope?
10. Day moves in and hasn't lost yet as a HC. He continues to bring in the top recruiting class in the conference.
Both USC and Texas had terrible hires that couldn't continue the great success of their predecessors. OSU continues its decades-long run.
To apply a famous BWI Board quote: "This is what we're up against."
