I believe Singleton just shattered the PSU record for TDs by a Freshman (includes rsFR)

Who held the old? D Williams? Jimmy Cefalo?

Believe it was held by Noah Cain (8 TDs in 2019). Cain had broken the record jointly held by DJ Dozier and Saquon Barkley (7). So Singleton went into the game tied with Cain at 8 and now holds the record alone at 10. In addition, he only needs just over 200 more yards to break the PSU record for rushing yards by a Freshman - currently held by Saquon Barkley (1,076 yards). Saquon broke DJ Dozier's record of 1,002 yards as a Freshman.

Singleton and Allen were both tied with eight before yesterday. With good weeks to finish out the regular season both of them have a chance to hit 1000 on the year. It will take a little bit more for Allen as he is going to need around 350 yards but Singleton is over 800.
From going from a team that hadn’t had a 100 yard rusher in a game in a couple years to potentially having two 1000 yard rushers on the team says a lot for the offensive staff.

Especially when Singleton has a very real chance of recording the best all-around Freshman season by a PSU running back in PSU history. Barkley currently holds that distinction - he rushed for 1,076 yards on 182 carries in 2015 (7 rushing TDs which was the record until 2019). What is amazing about Singleton's season is the numbers he has put up on the limited number of carries he has had. Singleton has put up 10 TDs and 801 rushing yards on only 123 rushing attempts. For comparison purposes, through 10 games in 2015, Saquon rushed for 902 yards on 148 carries and 7 TDs (So Saquon had 25 more carries than Nick to this point). In the last 2 games Saquon carried the ball 34 more times. Again, what is most remarkable about Singleton's numbers to date, are the extremely limited number of attempts he's needed to put up his record shattering numbers (he has only averaged 12 carries a game). The average length of his TD runs is also insanely impressive. It's one thing to have 10 TD runs averaging 4 to 5 yards per TD, but quite another to average double digits per TD run.

By-the-by, Saquon (and DJ Dozier) still held the record for Regular Season TDs by a Freshman (7) as 2 of Noah Cain's 8 TDs came in the bowl game.
