I miss Penn State wrestling.

With few exceptions, these last 3 days were just plain fun. Not sure how to move on right now. :(:)
Read the boards, re-watch and dissect each match wrestled by every member of the Penn State team, go back and watch their high school matches, watch all the matches of our commits and targeted recruits... Then compile detailed stats and post them here. You'll be so busy responding to opinions and requests for more info that you might miss the upcoming season. Good luck!

Reading pre-nationals prediction threads and listening to pre-nationals prediction podcasts is always a fun way to wind down. There was nothing as crazy as Steelwood Radio calling for 7 Buckeye champs in 2018, but there’s always something funny. I don’t ever want to listen to those Initiate Contact clowns again, but their post BIGs podcast is surely pretty funny.

Go to HR and read posts from last summer and fall about how PSU was done and was going to get trounced this spring. 🙃
To be fair, Iowa was clearly bitten hard by injuries. Their roster looked pretty good on paper. I don't think they could have matched us, but they were missing a champ from last year and two finalists from last year were clearly not themselves.

I feel for the Hawkeye wrestlers. Injuries suck. I have no sympathy for the cesspool and the indigenous knuckle draggers.

Start a transfer scenario thread! Everyone will be gunning for PSU, and you know that there will be some major transfers to shake up the race. Heck, Iowa may even recruit over some of their beloved room guys. My bet is Iowa brings in at least 2 transfers- don’t know who yet.

I agree. Maybe it was just the way that "Penn State" was portrayed as suddenly irrelevant and they had anointed themselves as unbeatable.

That's kind of the Iowa Way these days, at least among the fans. Wishful thinking that PSU will somehow fall off its perch and Iowa will regain its former glory.

Start the Vito to PSU rumors. One can day dream.

They do like seasoned veterans. Rumor is TnT are going to be coaching competitors and the reason Gable has been seen so frequently in the ISU room lately is because Terry won't stop nagging Dan about helping out by competing just during the spring semester, ie a Kemerer model.

I refuse to move on. PsSU wrestling is year round for me. I find ways to make sure it’s always in my mind from keeping up with recruits, visiting this board to watching past matches and our and tourneys. Not to mention all the freestyle action. For me, only the NFL can compare but in reality it’s not all that close.

I'm just coming down from cloud 9 .. a few days out from beginning GOLF season, so my mind will be spent thinking about four footers instead of edge takedowns!

Here's a better suggestion. Set aside April 27 to May 1 and plan on being in Las Vegas for the US Open tournament. You can be sure that a lot of Penn State guys will be there and what's better is that they are often a lot more accessible than at the NCAA tournament or dual meets. I've spoken with a lot of Penn State wrestlers there along with their parents. As I mentioned in another thread, I've had multiple opportunities to talk to Cael, but I was always reluctant to interrupt him when it seemed like he was paying attention to something.

On top of that, there's always Las Vegas if you're into that kind of stuff. Personally, I like returning home wearing the shirt I came with, but not everyone has those concerns.
