I must concede. Supreme Court nominees must be held to the highest standard.

Should there be a hint of impropriety the president should nominate another judge. I believe that’s the rationale behind the majority of people against Judge Kavanaugh. Notwithstanding the fringe elements who are making the most noise, applying the transitive property to their rape experience (i.e., it happened to me so Kavanaugh must be guilty) as well as their willingness to kick Due Process to the curb without considering the long-term consequence. That said, if you’ve saintly expectations of our government “servants” then don’t hold your breath. And don’t talk to me about Kavanaugh’s alleged lack-of-temperament. When someone is accused of sexual assault without corroboration then you expect them to react vociferously in their defense. Moreover, we don’t want automatons on the bench. Sometimes sound judgement requires empathy. Without it the disadvantaged among us would lose even more faith in our judicial system.

If only Dr. Ford filed a police report then none of this would’ve happened. But alas, there’s no contemporaneous evidence upon which to base a verdict, one way or the other. It’s just hearsay and innuendo, and yet we allow it to ruin peoples’ lives. And if you think Democrats care about Dr. Ford now that she’s served her purpose then you’re deluded. Sen. Susan Collins’ plea for a “more perfect union” is prescient. We keep going down this path the constitutional republic is at risk. And yet not only did her plea fall on deaf ears, but one side derides her on social media because it didn’t get what it wanted.

I thank you and have a blessed day!
