thus far on paper. Yes it sucks McLean got lazy and KD is tied to Temple apparently. The DT curse of decommits is pretty odd and real apparently, but hopefully a kid like Shelton pulls and Austin Johnson or Jordan Hill for us.

QB. Stephens and Jake Z. (Solid)
RB. Barkley, ARob, and Sanders (sick)
WR. Polk, Charles, and Johnson
TE. Bowers, Holland, and Dalton
OL. Jenkins, Palmer, Bates, Gonzalez, Menet, McGovern, Gellerstedt, and Fries (upgrade)
P. Gillikin (huge need)
K. Barbir (upgrade)

DE. Simmons, Joseph, Miller, Givens, (if you haven't seen Joseph's athleticism...you need to look at it)
DT. Buchholz, Windsor, Carter, Ellison (Ellison, Buchholz, and Carter were 4 stars on at least one site)
LB. Cooper, Bowen, Toney, Brown, J Miller? (need 1-2 more to be honest)
CB. Reid, Taylor, ZMac (much more athletic than in past years)
S. Petrishen, Monroe, Pryts (solid, Hudson would have been nice there...oh well)

Matthews could be at 3-4 different spots so I don't know where to stick him yet. I like a few here more than most. I think Joseph makes an impact within 2 years. He can move really well for a kid his size and I believe he has that big wingspan too. Monroe will make some waves at safety I think. The OL while young should be a real solid foundation in the next 2-3 years...real solid. The type that can help you turn the corner. Windsor was all the talk last year so I'm interested to see if he fills in behind Cothren and White.

Bottom line is the program is moving forward in a positive direction, but the bumps in the road have been rough. One more year of bumps and I think you start to see this team deliver a whole lot more.

With the success at the DT position over time what is it that seems to be the reason for the decommits? It seems strange to me. What are your thoughts if I may ask?

I was thinking the same thing. PSU really has had decent success on the DL. NFL rosters should support it.

I don't see both Brown and Toney staying at LB or at the very least they need to fill out. We have 3 scholarship LBs in 2017 with experience if they redshirt. I actually think we need a LB more than a DT. Hudson or Ferns will suffice

Hudson isn't an option. I can see one of those two moving, and apparently Toney is pretty explosive and good at getting to QB's to he could end up as an DE.

From the little of Toney that I saw of his playoff game he looks like a dynamic LB prospect to me. Doesn't have the size to play DE so I don't see why some see him as a DE. He's fast and pursues from sideline to sideline. Looks like great LB prospect. But another natural LB such as Ferns would be super.

Hudson is not an option? We'll find out tomorrow. He's a player and it will be sweet if he comes to PSU. Safety or LB. Not as tall as Farmer, but will make a much faster transition to D than Farmer. Hudson is a hitter and could go out tomorrow and improve our kick coverage teams.

DT position recruiting is weird the last few years. But if Carter, Windsor, and Bucholz are keepers we'll be OK. White looked pretty good in limited work last year and he'll need to step up for us to be solid. The pictures I've seen of White show enormous arms and I'm hoping he can be the quick, 310 lb big body in the middle next year. But to compete against oh-high-ya and other big running teams we need size across the DL. I'd like to see bigger DE's than we have had the last few years (other than Nassib) Barnes, Olaniyan,... decent pass rushers but got pushed around against the run. We need 270-280 lb DE's, other than on passing downs when a guy like a 245 lb Simmons can explode for sacks....

Hudson's commitment will not be for PSU. This really isn't some secret anymore.
