Sounds like the assailants were Mexican soccer fans. They’re pretty bottom of the barrel as far as fans go

My wife used to be a counselor and is now an attorney. She gets the calls on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings. Here is what I overhead 99.99% of the time:

• (fight, car wreck, shoplifting, spousal abuse, shooting, stabbing, etc.)
• Yes
• Yes
• (ten or fifteen minutes go by)
• ..and may I ask, was drinking involved?

I don't pretend to be a connoisseur but given what I've read from the SEPA folks here, Pat's is an entry level/tourist outlet for cheesesteaks. Maybe they were upset when they realized there were better sandwiches elsewhere in the city.
