I thought Shoop to Tennessee was a mortal lock.

This was happening.

Could the volunteer athletic supporters have been wrong?

Some folks were saying it could happen this afternoon...and that was of a few hours ago!! Not sure where they are getting their info. I am sure they would like Shoop but I don't get the move. It is a lateral move...and besides I have family in Knoxville....and so I can speak on it...I would rather live in State College...but that is just my opinion.

Not trying to start an argument, but there is no way that a coach wanting to make a name for himself worries that much about "quality of life". They choose the coaching opportunity that best enables them to succeed professionally.

Well, I am just saying if all things are equal, where you live is very important. Because when I see a DC at UT vs DC at PSU, I see equal job. I would probably say PSU has the nudge on history. We are Linebacker U. Now, if UT throws a ton of $$$$ at him, that is different story. But we have already seen that Auburn threw more $$$ at him potentially and he said no thanks...according to what I have been told, he turned down the offer to even consider the job.

I agree that Tenn is lateral move... just saying that coaches that want to move up aren't checking into who has the best access to golf and preschools
